lcfc_jme Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 May be making a mistake in trusting Wikipedia, but it says the following: "The club takes it's nickname from the vast number of people that left Plymouth for the New World. The club crest features the Mayflower, the Plymouth ship, which carried many of the original pilgrims."

cisono Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 This is bloody annoying Any ideas/alternatives to matchlive, guys?
Thracian Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 why are Plymouth called the pilgrims? Cos the Pilgrim Fathers supposedly set sail from there in the Mayflower for the New World. In fact they set sail from Harwich and only stopped at Plymouth en route cos another (or the oher) vessels in the group was unseaworthy, at least that's my understanding of the facts.

Thracian Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 Having been pleased about Fryatt's return now they're moaning about Fryatt. Do they know what they want?. If he's not been in the game maybe it's the same problem Hammond had - no sodding service.

Okay then Bleedin' Pilgrim, make your exit now cis, are you suprised we're on the back foot? We do like to soak up pressure before we attempt to mount a half decent attacking spell

MC Prussian Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 When's Barber's contract running out again? In 99 years or something? Every time I tune in for the commentary, I automatically feel so much at home...
