Cobbo Posted 26 December 2004 Posted 26 December 2004 Higher than usual from you Petrescu Taylor - 6 - Kicking was good throughout for once and made some good saves. Dropped the ball from the corner that they scored from though, obviously should have punched. Makin - 5 - Average, why did we play Stearman for one game in which he played brilliantly and then drop him? Keown - 6 - Worst game for us, but I thought he was decent. Organised well and his positional sense was good. Dublin - 6 - Commanding in the air at the back and made a couple of good challenges. Not so effective upfront. Stewart - 7.5 - Second longest serving player and the best we have at the moment it would seem. Up against Campbell-Ryce for much of the game, who did well, but Stewart did well against the very tricky winger himself. Gillespie - 7 - Another who has improved no end under CL, unlucky with a blocked shot and cross in the second half when he was on the left. Nalis - 5 - Not good, again Looked slow and some of his passes were not as good as they should have been. Think he needs to be rested for a few games for Williams and then hopefully we can get them both performing. Gudjonsson - 5 - Not good either, missed placed passes. Got stuck in fairly well, but gives away so many needless fouls allowing them to get out of tight spots Morris - 5 - Decent effort in the first half, good save from Pollitt. But he needs to sort his touch out as pace certainly is not everything. Scowcroft - 4 - Needs to be dropped/rested/whatever you call it. Last few games have been poor. Not winning as much in the air as he was earlier in the season and his touch seems to have got worse. Connolly - 5 - Link up play was decent again, but he is not doing what a striker should...scoring. How did he miss that header? I would certainly not drop him as I think we are far worse when he doesn't play, but please learn how to finish Dave... Subs: Benjamin - 5 - Battled away but certainly is no winger. Gemmill - 5 - Did his usual shite. Get ball, pass it square, ask for ball back. And it goes on. Doesn't offer us anything except a bit of ball retention, why he was put on ahead of Williams I do not know.
Cobbo Posted 26 December 2004 Posted 26 December 2004 Missed the game today for various reasons - was it worse then the Brighton & watford home games? 49633 Wouldn't say it was as bad as Brighton, but perhaps Watford.
Scow Posted 26 December 2004 Posted 26 December 2004 Taylor 6 – Not sure if he was at fault for the goal, there were plenty of bodies around him so I wasn’t sure if he was fouled or not. Generally solid though and looked commanding again. Kicking much improved. Makin 4 – Why does he keep playing those long balls to Connolly? – He won’t win anything in the air against a 6ft plus centre back you nonce. Didn’t show much enthusiasm running down the right flank supporting Gillespie, and his service in to the area was too straight and easy to defend. Bring back Stearman. Keown 5 – Definitely his worst game for the club, but still one of the best players on the pitch for us. Junior caused him problems in the air and on the ground, which is fairly worrying. Dublin 5 – Looked solid, but gave away too many fouls for my liking. Had trouble containing Junior and Butler too. Did nothing when moved upfront. Stewart 7 – Best player by far, for us. Did his best against Campbell Ryce, but was obviously caught out a few times because he received virtually no defensive support. Got forward well and put in a few good crosses, and showed some nice touches and got past players. The only player who looks likely to make things happen, and he’s our left back. Gillespie 6 – Looked lively again and put in a few good deliveries from set pieces and crosses. Gave the ball away cheaply though in promising positions and committed too many fouls. Nalis 4 – Poor game, looks tired and off the pace. His passing was very wasteful and didn’t contribute much attacking wise. Gudjonsson 3 – Awful game. I can remember one good pass in the first half, but that was about it. Gave the ball away cheaply on so many occasions and looked lightweight in the midfield. Morris 3 – Have you got a first touch? All he has is pace and not much else. Even then he doesn’t seem that quick… Connolly 5 – Fairly ineffective, but he seems to be the only one moving. I can’t believe he missed from virtually a yard out, he has no excuse for that. Dropping him isn’t the answer though, it’s not his fault he has long aimless balls pumped up to him. Scowcroft 3 – Wasn’t too bad in the first half, showed some good control and picked out a few passes. However, he looked well off form again and his control and touch in the second half was shocking. He won virtually nothing in the air and looked lethargic again. Drop him, but then we don’t have anyone else. Subs: Benjamin 4 – Tried his hardest but sadly lacks any ability. Gemmill 4 – A useless sub, who offered nothing going forward when trying to chase the game.
breadandcheese Posted 26 December 2004 Posted 26 December 2004 Taylor - 6 - Made some good saves again, but should have done better for their goal Makin - 4 - I think he's rubbish. His distribution down the right flank is poor, and his defending is average to inadequate. When is Canero fit for selection? Keown - 5 - Not one of his better games. Helped to make Junior look good, and Junior is rubbish. Dublin - 5.5 - A bad game as well. Did well at times, whilst in other moments looked shaky. We need a real organiser in the back four (which you would expect either Keown or Dublin with their experience to be) Stewart - 8 - He is growing in stature in that full back position. Gets up the flank offering support and adding an attacking threat, whilst putting in some saving tackles today. Admittedly, his positioning is occasionally suspect, but anytime it was today, he always recovered well. The Ashley Cole of the championship. Gillespie - 7 - Its strange when Gillespie shows more effort than the rest of the midfield and indeed is our best midfielder of the day. Worked hard and showed some neat touches. Tried to make things happen. Gudjonsson - 4 - Made about as much impact as Chris O'Grady at Notts County. As the defensive midfielder in the team, who is supposed to break up the opposing team's moves, he can't tackle, often allowing players to ghost past him all too easily. Had a very poor game today. Very disappointing, and certainly not the answer as a tackling midfielder. Nalis - 4 - Lilian also had a very poor game, not quick enough with his passes, and looking slow. Not helped by a poor Gudjonsson display. (Having said that, Gudjonsson was not helped by a poor Nalis display) Morris - 5.5 - Looked good for the first half an hour, getting into dangerous positions and linking up with Connolly to create some good moves down the left. Except he showed far too much of the ball when dribbling at defenders that he made it easy for them to tackle him. He then looked tired and got subbed. Maybe after some more games, his sharpness, dribbling and stamina will be better. Scowcroft - 4 - A shocker of a game for him. Misplaced passes, looked off the pace, with the reactions of a pissed-up breeze block. I really thought he would excel up front and take his chance creating a good forward parnership with Connolly. Guess I didn't really bank on Scowie's shitness Connolly - 7 - I think he does well linking up with players, showing neat touches, attempting to make things happen and working damn hard throughout a game. The only thing I don't get is when he finally gets a break, he heads against the bar. I keep telling myself that it's only a matter of time and just bad luck. I think he my have been cursed. Anyone know any witch doctors, or something like that just in case? Subs Benjamin - 4 - It's a sad state of affairs when people call for Benjamin as if he is the saviour of our football club. The truth is he has never, and will never possess the skills to warrant the wearing of a blue shirt. Effort is not always enough. I mean, bloody hell, he was farmed out to Rushden & Diamonds last season where even they thought he was shit. Gemmill - 5 - Was better than our other central midfielders today, but that's not saying much. Still not a good option for the team. I would just like to say that I feel sorry for Levein. Inheriting a crap team from Adams, and having no money to do anything about it. It must be painful as a manager, identifying the numerous faults with our players and not being able to do anything about it. I hope Levein realises that our frustration today was directed at the players. I know people will say play the youngsters, but I'm worried that if they train with the and start to play with the first team, they might start to learn from the likes of our experienced pros such as Makin, Scowcroft and Dublin.

Anish Posted 26 December 2004 Posted 26 December 2004 Taylor - 5 - only really had one thing to do and cocked that up, leading to their goal. Goal kicking was much improved though. Makin - 4 - simply rubbish. Never supports Gillespie on the wing and his distribution, including crosses, is wasteful. Dublin - 5 - did okish, but that's not good enough when we're playing the bottom team. Keown - 5 - poor performance by his standards, couldn't cope with Junior at times. Stewart - 7 - excellent game by him again. He is beginning to look the part and showed great maturity in some of his play. Well done Jordan. Gillespie - 6.5 - did reasonably well. Put some good crosses and ran at defenders. Almost cost us in the first half with his abysmal backpass that Dublin had to clear off the line. Nalis - 5.5 - needs a rest. His poor form and LCFC's recent poor results are no coincidence. Bring in Williams please. Gudjonsson - 5 - not impressed by him. The guy didn't even sign autographs in the car park before the game- tosser. On the field he is never in the right positions when there is a 50-50 ball to be won. Morris - 4 - very poor on the whole. One decent effort in the first half but generally his control, touch, and dribbling was shocking. Looked clueless on the balls at times and gave it away cheaply. Connolly - 6 - he is great on the ball and works his socks off, but when it comes to the crunch he just can't hit the back of the net - that;s what he's paid to do. Still better than most of our players though, and we can't afford to drop him. Scowy - 3 - we can afford to drop this lump of crap. Another poor performance and did nothing for the team. Bring in Wright, just to freshen things up. Everyone else has had a run in the team and failed so Wright should get his chance now. Subs: Gemmill - 3 - yes he keeps the ball well, but anybody can do that when all you do is pass sideways or backwards. Couldn't believe he came on when Williams was on the bench. Craig Levein seriously needs his head examining if he thinks Gemmill can change a game. Benji - 3 - rubbish. Couldn't control or pass. Had no positive effect on the team. Thank god his contract ends in July.

mr potatohead Posted 26 December 2004 Posted 26 December 2004 Taylor 5 Makin 3 Dublin 5 Keown 4 Stewart 6 Gillespie 5 Gudjohnsen 4 Nallis 4 Morris 3 Scowcroft 4 Connely 4 Gemmil 4 Benjamin 2 Stewart was probably our best player today not that it means a lot because the side was very poor.I have to say that personally I think he is a poor player and it' s a poor show for LCFC when he is our MOM.
Craig Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 I'm not voting today because i don't feel i should make an effort in trying to remember such a lacklustre performance by a bunch of totally inept professionals. Simply dreadful today.
Little Nicky Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 Taylor - 6 - Some good saves but IMO should have had that ball for their goal, was he fouled or not, in any case it shoudn't have happened! Makin - 4 - What a bag of wank, not fit to polish his own boots today, I can't believe he gets the nod over Stearman - shocking! Keown - 5 - Just hasn't got the pace, he tries and gets some good touches on the ball but he will need a rest for 3weeks now. Dublin - 6 - Yet again looks better since his switch to the back, however he's not the youngest of guys and playing 2 35+ guys in the centre of our defence against somone other than Niall Quinn and Ian Marshall is doomed to failure, he needs someone that can chase back next to him ideally, stick with him though CL! Stewart - 8 - Cracking display today, looks highly composed in that fullback role, I'm very impressed; looked the only star in a cloudy night sky! Gillespie - 5 - He still possesses the basic talent of the game but IMO he's a lazy bastard, he won't run at anyone, and just when you think ay up he's on a fooking good run here he gets taken out, stick with him too, but he needs to stop glugging the old ale for ####'s sake, he's 28 not 38 he should have more pace than he showed today! Gudjonsson - 4 - P*ss poor today, and I think he's a gem sometimes, but Williams is far more deserving of his spot, no scrap that Dawson is! Nalis - 4 - Nalis mate, you've now put in 3 consecutive lethargic displays, and have shown just how you are not the new midield dynamo! Please CL bring in Williams to play alongside Dawson here, I can't bear to see players having a string of bad games and escaping from their shower fooking bone dry! Morris - 5 - Bad decision that substition, Scowcroft had looked my number one man for the subs bench at that point, Morris appeared to look lively and willing to run the ball, we looked good down the left, minus when him and Gillespie kept trading place wtf was that all about, Gillespie only has a right foot LEE! Shame his first touch was suspect, as I thought he could have made the difference along with Jordan! Scowcroft - 3 - Very low rating for a very poor player, the highlight of his game for me was that he went home a loser, because frankly on his performance that was nothing more than he deserved, utter shite, no power in his heading and his passing was incredibly poor, I know we have limited ptions up front but surely we can afford to drop Scowy for 1 game and bring someone else in, why the hell he has played all but about 3 games in the past 4 years baffles me! Connolly - 6.5 - Seems improved since his 'injury' break, I think he'll get better personally and as soon as he gets some forward support who can lay some decent passes on for him he could show his true potential, Bring in Andy Kirk I say, he seems a good little worker at Boston! Subs Benjamin - 4 - Unfortunate that he came on, on the right wing, not his postion by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd have prefered him to Scowy in the forward line, as even though he seems a lacklustre player, he generally makes things happen and has a bit of oomph, ah well he blew any chance he had today! Gemmill - 2.5 - Fully deserved that contract did Gemmill :w00t: , shower of shite, utter garbage, and he must learn to fooking shooooooot! Why CL saw fit to bring him on instea of Williams is laughable! Well I think I've made my opinions pretty damn clear, and in all honesty I don't think we can make the play-offs any more, we're gonna be stuck in this division for another season, and I'll stick by the club, as I always will, through thick or thin, but I just hope CL offloads the the glory boys looking for their final pay check and is given the chance to bring in his own regime, before he is judged! COME ON THE LEICESTERRRRRR!
Cobbo Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 Keown - 5 - Just hasn't got the pace Quickest centre half at the club
Little Nicky Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 Keown - 5 - Just hasn't got the pace Quickest centre half at the club 49701 I never said that any of the others had any pace either Cobbo , a new look back line is needed, desperately!
Cobbo Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 Keown - 5 - Just hasn't got the pace Quickest centre half at the club 49701 I never said that any of the others had any pace either Cobbo , a new look back line is needed, desperately! 49702 But he is generally a fast defender. He'll be amoung the fastest in this division. I still rate him highly, wasn't great today but he has been one of our best players this season. Shame he's old and injury prone
Stuliasz Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 Lets get everyone's ratings in before I announce the results tonight. I am announcing them early due to the next game being tomorrow. If you still want to post your ratings after the results have been announced, feel free to do so and they will be counted in the end of season awards.
Collymore Posted 27 December 2004 Posted 27 December 2004 Taylor - 6- would have been an 8 if had not dropped the ball Makin - 5- never really noticed him 2 be honest which i don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing! Keown -5- slow, slow, slow Dublin -6- see above but never panic's Stewart -7- did well, by far our best player Gillespie -5- Can't use his left foot so easy for the defender to try and guide him inside. Was worried when he seemed to have a 5 minute spell at left back Gudjonsson -6- did ok first half but him and nalis never seemed to be in the right postion 2nd Nalis -6- see above Morris -5- made a few good runs near the start and then just faded until i couldn't see him Scowcroft -4- was playing on his own most of the game as connolly decided to play MC, MR, ML, DMC, DC, GK.....etc looked like he had lost the hunger. Connolly -6- No doubt he can play football but CL should play another striker if connolly is going to play such a free role. Scowcroft is just to isolated Subs Benjamin -3- Gemmill -3-
