Milky Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 Thanks I like to think I made a pretty good attempt at naming crisis conditions (me and you are about to disagree again...) Money to spend in January. Let us give it all to Rob Kelly to spend. Aren't you at all worried that Kelly will bring in more shit like Low and Johnson, and further worsen our playing team? Doesn't it worry you that if he brought in players who are of the standard Low and Johnson are, he'd play them just so that he doesn't appear to be backing down on his decisions? I think we'd be worse off after January if we let Kelly go gung-ho in the transfer market. A positive thing could well go tits-up for us. did i say that kelly should spend the money? eh? eh?
MBK Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 I think Kelly himself is surprised at how bad Johnson is
lcfc_jme Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 did i say that kelly should spend the money? eh? eh? no you didn't. Did you say that Kelly shouldn't be given the money? Meaning he would still be in charge in January. Meaning he'd get to spend the money. Right? eh? eh?
Milky Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 no you didn't. Did you say that Kelly shouldn't be given the money? Meaning he would still be in charge in January. Meaning he'd get to spend the money. Right? eh? eh? it's hard to judge whether kelly will be good with money or not because he hasn't had any before. Ok low and johnson et al are shit, but good players just don't come for free.
lookwhaticando Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 it's hard to judge whether kelly will be good with money or not because he hasn't had any before. Ok low and johnson et al are shit, but good players just don't come for free. McAuley did.

Ok low and johnson et al are shit, but good players just don't come for free. Money is required for good players - agreed. But I'm worried that with money and Kelly's prior judgement, he'd be dangerous in the transfer market. He could buy shit players, give them hefty contracts and steamroller his way towards relegation. Craig Levein in disguise.
lookwhaticando Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 iirc didnt dickov come for free and deon? Dion Dublin? Free? Yes. Good? No.

Ok low and johnson et al are shit, but good players just don't come for free. Yeah but don't get the crap either. Kelly could have had money had he sold some excess players. His fault and another demerit Somehow MA had an idea of picking unwanted crap and getting something even selling at a profit. He did make 7 million in transfer didn't he?
Milky Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 Yeah but don't get the crap either. Kelly could have had money had he sold some excess players. His fault and another demerit seriously though, when we signed andy johnson did you not think it was a good signing? I did.
Head Honcho Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 If that did happen what does it say about the good people of Leicester and Leicestershire? Only give a toss when we're doing well and when we're shit their too embarrassed to admit their Leicester fans. Not at all! The city is able to finance a successful football club but unfortunately the club hasn't moved with the times and poor financing has created an imbalance that no amount of fans can repair.
MBK Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 seriously though, when we signed andy johnson did you not think it was a good signing? I did. Refer to previous post. But no, I was excited we actually got someone in!

Craig Levein in disguise. i agree he could be, but we cannot automatically assume he will buy shit. during this period i'm sure he would have grown to appreciate the value of money and therefore before he signs any player he would make absolutely certain it was a good move.

I would have to hope that you're right, and Kelly has indeed, as the saying suggests, learned from his mistakes. However, I wouldn't trust him 100%, and would definitely like somebody to watch over him if he was given the cash, just to make sure he wasn't being irrational, defensive and completely ridiculous in the transfer market.

Agreed but neither do i really believe will we go the way of Maidstone and Newport County. How can a club that has average gates of 15,000 - 20,000 go bust. But then again history has told us that the Leicester board has generally lacked the means or ambition to spend big and when it has it is because we've made the money from selling our best players.

Looks like more of the same when MM comes in, then...

Trurara Director of Football. Good idea though. ACF Fiorentina in italy have a superb director of football who changed the team from relegation contenders to champions' league material though this year they started the table at -15
