dandannieldanok Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Who was chairman and who was in the board of directors at the time the decision to build the Walkers?
BartonFox Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Who was chairman and who was in the board of directors at the time the decision to build the Walkers? John Elsom was Club Chairman and Rodney Walker was PLC Chairman.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 John Elsom was Club Chairman and Rodney Walker was PLC Chairman. OK, anyone else, like me, believe we wouldn't be in half the trouble we are in if the Walkers had never been built? I know our troubles have mainly been due to wasted money of transfer tosh but I think this project is a major factor.
Bert Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 We wouldn't have gained promotion if we didn't have the Walker stadium imo.
Libertine Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 I ****ing hate the Walkers Stadium. It's so sh*t I tell ya.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 We wouldn't have gained promotion if we didn't have the Walker stadium imo. Why's that? Would you care to explain?
john_lcfc Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 I ****ing hate the Walkers Stadium. It's so sh*t I tell ya. agreed
Daggers Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 What was the Wednesday song today? About our ground being to big for us. Thought it was quite witty.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 What was the Wednesday song today? About our ground being to big for us. Thought it was quite witty. City fans sung the same one at Hillsborough.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 City fans sung the same one at Hillsborough. Ah not true we sang "Your grounds to big for you" They sang "This grounds to big for you" Big differnce.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 Ah not true we sang "Your grounds to big for you" They sang "This grounds to big for you" Big differnce. It is actually quite funny the difference because it is the honest truth. They cannot say 'your ground is too big' but it isn't ours
Joe. Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 No the Walkers is a great stadium and the revenue it has produced compared to Filbo Street is probably massive.
lildave3 Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 No the Walkers is a great stadium and the revenue it has produced compared to Filbo Street is probably massive. Yeah agree. As much as we all loved filbo (and we all loved filbo) The Walkers was a step forward and i am proud to have it.
JoeyB Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 im proud to have it too would you rather have a new up to date stadium or a stadium that needs expensive repair work done to it every season?
dandannieldanok Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 im proud to have it too would you rather have a new up to date stadium or a stadium that needs expensive repair work done to it every season? I think some people are getting the wrong end of the stick, the problem is we don't and never have owned it. IT ISN'T OURS!! All it has done it plunged us into great debt and helped us fall drastically into adminstration. Plus, Filbo was old but it was hardly crumbling to pieces.

Soon we will be debt free and riding the high life. And then we wake up.

To add to this, luckliy we fell into administration a season or two before the -10points rule came in. Just think about the mess we would have been in.
Brummie-FOX Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Why's that? Would you care to explain? Teams take a year or two to settle into their new grounds. Arsenal are a prime example. Leicester got promotion in their first season which was brilliant.
