Ferdinand

I've just read that Les Ferdinand has left Bolton by mutual consent - which means he's available again. Should we bring him back - he'd do a great job in this league if fit and would certainly score goals.

Personally I wouldn't bring him back - it's a backwards step and he won't last beyond this season. Any thought?

I would love to get him back!!! He'd be a wicked partner for Connolly, he's got great experience and not a lot left in him. Connolly could read his play welli reckon. Would be a really good signing, but doubt he'll come back <_<

It depends on Scowcroft I suppose, but Levein is looking to bring down the age of the squad. As I said in another thread, we need someone with a bit of pace upfront to cause the opposition some problems from open play. I personally wouldn't bring him back, he would be available for one game, and then out for the next two probably.

He's a ledge but I don't think he'd come back, nor would we really have him back, we're looking for a more long term fix, especially 'if' Scowy does go! I think Redknapp might try and take him on at Southampton anyway, he always seemed an admirer!

Bring him back till the end of the season, the guy is a class act. Then we will not need to panick buy. I would love to have him back, we've got les ferdinand weve got les ferdinand.

Still living in the past then? :( One year contracts for old past its, has got to be a thing of the past if we're going to have any half decent future whatsoever.

Okay he is old and will only last til the summer but he would score goals for us! We need goals! I was thinking yesterday that if we had Ferdindand this season we would be so much better off.

id love to see ferdinand back. he did say if he didnt get a chance in the prem he would have loved to stay at city. with any luck he'l decide to cum back

I was thinking that too, I said to my dad, that he's the only player that I didn't really expect to jump ship as he only had one season left and chose the wrong type of club for thatlast seson, would be a great signing in this division just like sheringham has been for the Ham, but my heart only says Soton are where he's headed!

Saying that though I did read earlier that he is looking for a club closer to his home in London so I suppose anything's possible! :ermm:

i dont think theres a problem with the one year pensioners its just the amount we have had over the last couple of seasons, id jump at the chance of having ferdinand back he did a great job last season and he'd do it again this year

Why southampton? I would have thought he would go back to london. He has been linked with QPR. I wouldnt mind having him back till the end of the season but i think he will most likely go back to london.

I dont reckon ferdinand will go to southampton and his wages might be a problem for QPR so you never know, but who's to say that CL will want him anyway

He would be on the bench again at the saints. He would be a first choice at us. I'm confident that if we offer the same wages he will choose us.

This is not going to happen,no way.CL as stated that the signing of 'stop gap' 'short fix' players are a thing of the past for the Club.He is trying to build a club signing 38 year old hardly fits into the scheme.Ferdinand was great for us last season but that was then this is now.I'd be very surprised if Levein signs any player over 30,Gemmill i s only hear to make the numbers up while CL accesses the squad.Ferdinand will not be coming to us,of that I'm certain.
