Anish Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 I've just read that Les Ferdinand has left Bolton by mutual consent - which means he's available again. Should we bring him back - he'd do a great job in this league if fit and would certainly score goals. Personally I wouldn't bring him back - it's a backwards step and he won't last beyond this season. Any thought?

Scow Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 It depends on Scowcroft I suppose, but Levein is looking to bring down the age of the squad. As I said in another thread, we need someone with a bit of pace upfront to cause the opposition some problems from open play. I personally wouldn't bring him back, he would be available for one game, and then out for the next two probably.

I think Redknapp might try and take him on at Southampton anyway, he always seemed an admirer!

Saying that though I did read earlier that he is looking for a club closer to his home in London so I suppose anything's possible!

Highland Posted 3 January 2005 Posted 3 January 2005 This is not going to happen,no way.CL as stated that the signing of 'stop gap' 'short fix' players are a thing of the past for the Club.He is trying to build a club signing 38 year old hardly fits into the scheme.Ferdinand was great for us last season but that was then this is now.I'd be very surprised if Levein signs any player over 30,Gemmill i s only hear to make the numbers up while CL accesses the squad.Ferdinand will not be coming to us,of that I'm certain.
