Steven Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 Fair play. Still a bit annoyed about the whole thing to be honest, sorry mate. Don't worry about it. Chalk it up to experience.
Lord Nibblington Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 erm the massive lack of teachers and the fact he is qualified....end of! Actually, it turns out there aren't a massive lack of teachers in some subjects. Like History. Which I found out only after I got onto my History PGCE. Bugger.
The People's Hero Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 erm the massive lack of teachers and the fact he is qualified....end of! Roll on Charlotte being qualified. Bring it.
Lord Nibblington Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 Roll on Charlotte being qualified. Bring it. Is Charlotte doing the whole applying for jobs now, and expecting you to help her fill crap in thing? Or is that just me?
The People's Hero Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 Charlotte hasn't done anything yet. I'm not sure if she's expecting to get offered something at her local school where her mum teaches. She's actually pretty vague about the whole affair. I'm considering committing myself to a mortgage on a shared ownership property soon though, so she wants to pull her finger out!
The People's Hero Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 I could hack it as a teacher. For about 2 hours.
bold_fox Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 I could hack it as a teacher. For about 2 hours. What do you do TPH ?
The People's Hero Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 What do you do TPH ? I'm a terrorism insurance underwriter. How about you mate? S3 company car at 23... must be something really decent.. or are you repping so need the image?
Lord Nibblington Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 People where I'm working now keep telling me I won't have any problems with behaviour managment. I think they know my super secret cunning plan of buying a big stick and battering kids who annoy me with it.
cisono Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 I could hack it as a teacher. For about 2 hours. You could probably be a better teacher than some I know
Rincewind Posted 30 January 2007 Posted 30 January 2007 Re job interviews, called into First Step today and they give all kinds of advice regarding jobs. Picked up a pamphlets '100 do's and dont's at an interview' I won't copy it out but they do have a website. Put first step into Google and its the first one. Follow the links for your area. They are not a job agency but they can help with the type of work youare searching for and help with CV's and interview technique. I'm in employment at the moment but am only getting two shifts with no communication from the company to let me know how things stand or if it will improve. Today We discussed possibilities like stewarding at the cricket or other events. I was told the one agency they knew that did eventing charge for transport but they weren't sure if traveling time was counted into your wages. Anyway got to go in thursday for a more in depth discussion. Not really looking for a fulltime job. Will have to check if taking redundancy if offered might be the best option. That is what is maddening about my company. I got a letter saying there could be redundancies then hear nothing further about it in two weeks. Leaves me unable to plan anything pernament. Had to go way back to find this thread.
