Geo V Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 There have been some really disasterous players who have won caps for England one week and then forgotten the next over the years and this was a pub chat a few weeks ago a few lads were having that was quite interesting (well, you had to do something in between leering over the females). We were discussing players who have actually gained an England cap and are still plying there trade, usually in the lower leagues. It needn`t be a one cap wonder but ex-Internationals who are still trotting around the lower leagues or players playing at a higher level who have no relatic chance of getting back in the squad. One of the lads reckons that 10% of English players still playing have actually played for England which is a ridiculous comment but when you start thinking of names of Englands current or ex-Internationals still playing, its a bloomin load!!! I`ll start with one of our own.... STEVE GUPPY - Stevenage (one cap) MICHAEL RICKETS - Now at Preston (one cap) ALAN THOMPSON - Leeds (one cap) DANNY MILLS - Man City (19 caps) KEVIN PHILLIPS - WBA (8 caps) JAMES BEATTIE - Everton (5 caps) PAUL KONCHESKY - West Ham (2 caps) NICK BARMBY - Hull (23 caps) STEVE STONE - Leeds (9 caps) DAVID UNSWORTH - Wigan (1 cap) DION DUBLIN - Norwich (4 caps) CHRIS POWELL - Watford (5 caps) RICHARD WRIGHT - Everton (2 caps) DARREN ANDERTON - Bournemouth (30 caps) MICHAEL GRAY - Blackburn (3 caps) DANNY MURPHY - Spurs (9 caps) ANDY COLE - Portsmouth (15 caps) Some of the above i cant work out why would would have them anywhere near an England squad . Anyway, can you think of some more ropey ex-Internationals still kicking about in the lower leagues?...

Finnegan Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 Yeah, Andy Fecking Johnson for one. Apparently he didn't find "You're just a shit Robbie Savage, shit Robbie Savage!" as funny as I did.
