Burleyfox Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Gaunty hosts the morning show on Talksport (10.00-1.00) - he is a big Coventry fan and was going on all last week on his programme about his beloved CCFC giving us a pasting on saturday.l I'm sure some of you will want to join me in Emailing the show to ask him "how the match went!!!"
Matt Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 The alternative is texting Chris Moyles saying Leeds are going down.
Brainy Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 He did say Leicester would be up for it. That was on Friday when they passed over to him
Brainy Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 I don't think the techincians will let Leicester fans onto the switchboard when they're talking about politics.. H + J should make that a clip of the week
B71 Baggie Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 I don't think the techincians will let Leicester fans onto the switchboard when they're talking about politics.. H + J should make that a clip of the week Gaunty is a tosser. He was tryin to big up Cov before they came to the Albion - 'Watch out you Baggies the Sky Blues are coming', 'You should be scared' etc etc, all nonsense, we battered em 5-0. He's the most self-righteous, right-wing, arrogant, obnoxious pr!ck on the radio. I can't wait till we go to the Ricoh - i'm gonna try and whip everyone up into an anti-Gaunt frenzy.

Brainy Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 True. He's won about 3 sony awards or something Funny guy though. Much like the rest on the station, nobody beats James Whale for amusement though.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Although he is a CCFC fan......TalkSport will not be the same. "Gaunt has been no stranger to controversy in his career, having faced the Broadcasting Standards Commission five times.[3] He most recently hosted a mid-morning current affairs show on talkSPORT. On November 18, 2008 it was announced that talkSPORT had terminated Gaunt's contract following an interview with Redbridge Council's Cllr Michael Stark on Friday November 7th.[4] The decision followed an internal talkSPORT investigation that was instigated following complaints about the content and nature of the broadcast, in which Gaunt branded Cllr Stark a "Nazi," and "an ignorant pig" live on air. The radio station later apologised to the councillor for the manner in which the interview was conducted. Talksport Radio confirmed that they had sacked Jon Gaunt on Wednesday 19th November 2008. A statement was released by the station explaining what had happened. Gaunt has vowed to come back from this event and continue to fight for children in the care system. An online petition has been set up to request that Jon Gaunt be reinstated at TalkSport." BOO!!!! What about a "KILROY-esque" TV show called Gauntlet?!?!?
Brainy Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Im not fussed about Gaunt, never liked him. I want Whale back.
Darkzzz_ Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Gaunt is a dick. I must admit some of the things he said/done were funny. But most of the time I found that I wanted to rip his heart out.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Im not fussed about Gaunt, never liked him. I want Whale back. Seconded, bring back the Whale! Far more entertaining and rational than that **** Gaunt. Haven't listened to talkSPORT once since they sacked the Whale.

Ian Collins hasn't been a bad replacement for Whale, but Ian Collins has been covering for Gaunt for a while now so he might be an automatic replacement, meaning Galloway will take the late night slot Galloway is alright but his shows are too serious for me.

It was Collins slot before Gaunt so it is very possible. IMO Talksport is a much poorer place with Out Jon. Love him or not people listen and that is revenue for Talksport.
LeeCovFox Posted 22 November 2008 Posted 22 November 2008 Can't stand Jon Gaunt so I am not too disappointed by this. Would love to see Whale back though. Disagreed with almost everything that the bloke said but he was entertaining, something which I didn't think Gaunt was.
Corky Posted 23 November 2008 Posted 23 November 2008 After getting rid of Rod Lucas as well, have they got anyone left?

At least Whale would listen to the views of others and even allow them to continue sounding off when he'd lost the argument. Gaunt was the master of the cut off button..........you start getting the better of him and it was adios to you my friend.

What amuses me is that Adrian Durham has a right go at him for that, yet he does exactly the same thing.
