Dames Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 Operation Premiership Thats the biggest joke i've ever heard.
Thracian Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 I think that's what's happened here. Mandaric will have assessed all avenues before he took over at Leicester and looking at other managers would have been high on the agenda as he wants to make a success of it here. Dowie was out of work, so therefore Milan could speak to him without breaking any rules. I think Mandaric was tempted to bring his own man in straight the way, but as time went on with the takeover saga, he perhaps realised that with us precariously in and around the relegation zone that it could be detrimental to get rid of our manager straight the way. Dowie wanted to get back in to management and therefore decided he couldn't wait any longer and chose to go to Coventry. Had Mandaric gone through with his initial idea then Dowie definitely would have chosen us over Coventry, we'd have paid more money for a start. Pretty close to the truth I'd say. It is also known that MM likes to be popular with the fans and he would have had plenty of time to guage the mood on this and other forums to the effect that Dowie wouldn't have been particularly welcome as a replacement for Kelly. Many people find it hard to assess Kelly's real capabilities as a manager/coach. But few of us want change just for change's sake. And Kelly will probably get time now to take advantage of that. I hope he rises to the challenge. And if not I'm quite convinced that Paul Ince will make a much better alternative than Dowie.
Flynny Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 And if not I'm quite convinced that Paul Ince will make a much better alternative than Dowie. I'd second that, but I'd like to see him finish out the season and fo a bit better with them than they're doing at current. They only got out of the relegation places this weekend gone, which is a miracle in itself but I'd still need to see more, personally.
Mort Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 ...he just doesn't pocess enough quality to be in charge at Leicester. We've got high standards... We've got Rob Kelly And if not I'm quite convinced that Paul Ince will make a much better alternative than Dowie. I'd agree... still early days with Incey, but he pulled off a minor miracle with Macc, he certianly worth keeping a tab on IMHO.
Glen_lcfc Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 Operation Premiership Coventry really are a joke
Scow Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 'Operation we're a second rate club who mysteriously spent over 30 seasons in the top flight but still harbor realistic ambitions of a return to the Premiersip with a disabled in charge who can't speak a sentence without fooking up somwhere along the line.'
SystonFox Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 their version of operation prem is laughable. they make a big fuss over elliot ward "the first £1million cov player in 6 yrs or something silly" and they still leak goals.
He's not bald Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 Good luck to them I say. Good Luck? Cov fans are dillusional idiots and I unfortunately work with lots of them, they seem to think that for reasons I don't understand that they are a much bigger club than Leicester! That is absolute garbage we have a bigger fan base larger crowds and now an owner who is willing to invest his "hard earned". On the evidence of the first 30mins on Saturday old Sloth from the Goonies is going to have his work cut out keeping the light blue feckers in the championship!
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 What a dis-interesting man Dowie is. His communication and body language spoke volumes, he's not up for that job. He couldn't even admit he chose Cov over us, if he had a half a brain you'd say it anyway to get on the fans side, even if it were not true.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 Means he won't have to stick around too long in Cov, at least. Thank god and no disrepect to Leicester fans living in Cov, but it is an absolute sh*t hole of a place !!!
