Nationwider Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 The Irish have drawn with Zimbabwe! 221 runs each, Zimbabwe all out off 50.00 overs, amazing. A game that was simultaneously crap and highly entertaining. The Irish are something different. It could be the World Ironing Championships in Papua New Guinea, and you'd still find about 500,000 sunburnt fans in green there cheering on the plucky Oirish team. ...and is it me, or is it St Patricks Day about 8 times a year?
Finnegan Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 I don't think you ned to cheer them on somehow Haha, oops?
Geo V Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Bloomin hell. 6 sixes from Gibbs for South Africa against Holland today!!!
Wilkesy Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Just saw that, great shots they were!!! Feel a bit sorry for the bowler!
Geo V Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Just saw that, great shots they were!!! Feel a bit sorry for the bowler! Apparently some sponsor has put up $1m to the player who achieves 6 sixes in one over to donate to charity! I bet they didnt think that they would be paying out !!

I bet they didnt think that they would be paying out !! I can't imagine they thought it'd have happened either! Brilliant batting from Gibbs though. South Africa well on their way to opening with a win. A new record for the amount of 6s hit by a side in ODIs as well was it not? 17 I think the official count was?

A new record for the amount of 6s hit by a side in ODIs as well was it not? 17 I think the official count was? Apparently its only $100k dollars now and not the big million?! Im not sure what the record of 6s in one match is but whatever the record was it couldnt have been as many as South Africa got surely? What was even better for the stats is that the game was reduced to just 40 overs due to rain!!
Jordan Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Pakistan is 106/8 after 31 overs--against Ireland! I've never seen an actual game of cricket in my life, but even I know that this is ridiculous! This could be a most hilarious upset!
Ajax Treesdown Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Pakistan 126-8 Vs Ireland India 191 all out Vs Bangladesh
Geo V Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Pakistan 126-8 Vs Ireland India 191 all out Vs Bangladesh Bangladesh 140-3 and crusing to victory but Ireland 44-2 and they had a shocking decision to get there century scoring opener out. Game on!
lcfc_jme Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Bangladesh beat India by 5 wickets!!! My team are off to the worst possible start now! Ireland are 81/4 at the minute.. The players are currently off the field, but if they don't come back out tonight the Irish will win it on D/L method!! What the **** is going on?!?

The luck of the irish
lcfc_jme Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 st patricks day you see. The luck of the irish So if the Irish do go on to win this, will they be just about through to the next stage pending a Windies win against Zimbabwe? A draw and a win from their first two games (Ireland), the Windies would be on two wins, Pakistan on two defeats and Zimbabwe on a draw and a loss.

Imagine if they won the cup
Brainy Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Watched Bangladesh kill India. Now Ireland are killing Pakistan. (for their standards) Well done both!
lcfc_jme Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 looks like it, i so hope they get through now. Imagine if they won the cup  If they won the cup then there'd be all kinds of conspiracy theories flying about!! It's ludicrous to even consider the Irish as cup winners ! They're back out and playing again now, and apparently the light is dreadful. We'll see if they have what it takes to claim the 47 runs required for victory.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 I think that O'Brien guy has signed for Northants for next season. Can't be arsed to check. Think it's him though.
lcfc_jme Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 good old O'Brien is still in their. These irish boys are making me nearer to the 1k. Light dosen't look too bad now Both O'Briens are in there! At 92/4, requiring 36 runs from the final 16 overs, having 6 wickets in hand, you'd say Ireland were pretty much home and dry wouldn't you??
