lildave3 Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 Well we have kp, freddie and the might leicestershire NICO. this has come round so quickly and i believe it starts next week? come on england lets bring back that trophy thing from the west indies!!! Well you're optimistic.
lcfc_jme Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 Well you're optimistic. Optimism or patriotism?? You decide! As for Englands chances, I'm not convinced. There's no doubt KP is a quality player, but his lack of form and consistency, as well as temperament, is a huge worry. And then there's the fact we beat the Aussies 3 times in a row without him being in the side.. Draw your own conclusions. I believe I have to support India as well in this because I was drawn them in the sweepstake??
Joe. Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 I still think the Aussies will win as much as I hate to say it. Their team is just too good not to win it for me.
Simi Posted 10 March 2007 Posted 10 March 2007 Well as always England is expectant for their side at the World Cup, why not we have a lot of talent I have Aussie in the sweepstake and as much as I don't want them to win it would be a nice consolation if England go out.
Milky Posted 10 March 2007 Posted 10 March 2007 There's no doubt KP is a quality player, but his lack of form and consistency, as well as temperament, is a huge worry. that's bull, how can you question his temperament, he shows no fear to any bowler and really takes it to the attack. This sort of fight can really disrupt a bowling attack.
lildave3 Posted 10 March 2007 Posted 10 March 2007 Well I can't see myself winning the sweepstake Neither can i, but i shall cheer my Zimbabwe on throughout
Geo V Posted 10 March 2007 Posted 10 March 2007 After seeing the warm-up matches, I just hope that the Windies havent fooked up all pitches because the warm ups were ropey. Slow bowling and nothing in ot for the fast bowlers would cout us out of the competition and make Sri Lanka favs in my opinion. I cant wait for the start though. Woooooooo
isaidno Posted 13 March 2007 Posted 13 March 2007 WEST INDIES VS PAKISTAN ( OPENING MATCH ) West Indies: 14-1 (3.4 overs)
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 March 2007 Posted 13 March 2007 WEST INDIES VS PAKISTAN ( OPENING MATCH ) West Indies: 14-1 (3.4 overs) Was about to say Gayle has ****ed up already. <_< Hopefully I'll be in the pub before "Briaaan Chaaarles Laraaaa" gets to the crease.
Flynny Posted 13 March 2007 Posted 13 March 2007 As for Englands chances, I'm not convinced. There's no doubt KP is a quality player, but his lack of form and consistency, as well as temperament, is a huge worry. And then there's the fact we beat the Aussies 3 times in a row without him being in the side.. Draw your own conclusions. Disagree with that. He just gets better and better judgement wise. In the tests and ODI's up until where he'd left, he'd been our only consistantly good player. I see to remember him scoring a century from 150+ balls at one point in the test series - that's almost as slow as Bell! I love Ben Dir's text commentary. He tries a bit too hard sometimes but he's mostly funny. Chanderpaul gets four for a forward defensive! Kaneria, fielding in the covers, collects and appears to succumb to some sort of spasm, whipping the ball miles over Akram behind the stumps and away for four. Odd. Maybe he's developed what they call in the darts world 'dartitis'? Inzamam did not like that. He is wearing the expression of a man who has specifically asked for no beans with his fry-up only to find his plate smothered with the things when it gets served up.
Simi Posted 13 March 2007 Posted 13 March 2007 Gayle getting out so early is a massive blow for the WIndies.
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 March 2007 Posted 14 March 2007 Now If I was Craig Wright (Scotland Captin) and I won the toss against Australia, in the bahmas I know what I'd be thinking, I'd be thinking "Right, we'll bat first, we'll give it a good go buts lets face it we're going to get 80 runs max, Australia will wack that off in about 15 overs and we can all get down the beach for two o clock and drink some Malibu and coke" But no, he's team are now going to get whacked around the park for most of the day.

Indeed they are. 125/1 off of 24 overs which is a run rate of around 5.20 runs an over. Unlucky Scotland but I think you're going to receive a bit of a hammering here.
Dr The Singh Posted 14 March 2007 Posted 14 March 2007 Now If I was Craig Wright (Scotland Captin) and I won the toss against Australia, in the bahmas I know what I'd be thinking, I'd be thinking "Right, we'll bat first, we'll give it a good go buts lets face it we're going to get 80 runs max, Australia will wack that off in about 15 overs and we can all get down the beach for two o clock and drink some Malibu and coke" But no, he's team are now going to get whacked around the park for most of the day. What a waste of time, batting practice for the aussies!!
lcfc_jme Posted 14 March 2007 Posted 14 March 2007 140/2 now off of 27 overs. Run rate is dropping. Maybe there's hope for Scotland! No? Thought not.
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 March 2007 Posted 15 March 2007 Todays miss match is even more amusing. Sri Lanka won the toss and now they've decided to bat first, obviously their in no rush to get down pub either. Being deadly serious I don't see the point it makes the match last about three hours longer than it needs to. I don't get the practise line either, seeing as the Bermuda bowling will be a good 30 k/m h slower than what their used to.
lildave3 Posted 15 March 2007 Posted 15 March 2007 Zimbabwe take a wicket in the first over Come on Zimbabwe
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 March 2007 Posted 15 March 2007 Zimbabwe take a wicket in the first over Come on Zimbabwe I don't think you ned to cheer them on somehow
isaidno Posted 15 March 2007 Posted 15 March 2007 Sri Lanka vs Bermuda Sri Lanka 321/6 (50.0 ov) Come on Bermuda !
lildave3 Posted 15 March 2007 Posted 15 March 2007 Zimbabwe aren't playing at the minute, rain stops play. Should resume soon though. Come on Zimbabwe
lcfc_jme Posted 15 March 2007 Posted 15 March 2007 Sri Lanka vs Bermuda Sri Lanka 321/6 (50.0 ov) Come on Bermuda ! Bermuda 29/5 from 11.4 overs!! What a complete disaster and waste of time that game actually was!
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 March 2007 Posted 15 March 2007 The Irish have drawn with Zimbabwe! 221 runs each, Zimbabwe all out off 50.00 overs, amazing.
