lookwhaticando Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 Why could he never win 4-0 away with us? Three goals from Barry Robson and a superb shot from Noel Hunt gave Dundee United a well-deserved victory over a beleaguered Hearts at Tynecastle. Ibrahim Tall and David Robertson were both sent off for violent conduct after clashing in the first half. All four goals arrived in a thrilling second period which saw United dominate a dispirited home side. Football: Hearts 0 - 4 Dundee Utd.
dandannieldanok Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 Doesn't sound like Hearts put up much of a fight. Glad MM bought us not Romanov.
Tommeh Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 CL yet again proing he is a decent manager at SPL level, shame about is record in the real leagues.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 Doubt the Terrors would appreciate being called Dundee!

The Reverend Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 What you on about? Just as Sheephead said, hes proved hes not up to it in a proper league so who cares
Sly Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 Just as Sheephead said, hes proved hes not up to it in a proper league so who cares I still think he'll go on to prove himself as a good manager. He just lacked knowledge of the league. In many ways he underestimated it.

arab83 Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 Levein is a good manager, its nothing to do with the league, its unfair to judge him on his time at one club as it is with any manager. He maybe like someone said lacked knowledge of the teams and what not down south, everything the man says is sense, he has turned us around, we had won 2 in 28 games and had 8 points in the league & bottom...since he came in we have won 9 in 21 games and taking 28 points from 19 league games, beat Rangers, Hearts & Aberdeen aswell as drawing at Celtic Park(we were 2-0 up wi 10mins to go...only team to get anything there before Rangers won last week)

He was poor for us i'm afraid, his style of management, tactics etc did not suite this league, he often played players out of position,. showed no tactical nouse, motivation skills were near zero and some of his signings were comical. The thing that infuriarated me the most was his pre match and post match comments, invariably he saw a totally different stance on a match compared to the rest of the world. Yes, he didn't have any experience of this division, but in the whole period he was here, nothing improved, nor did he ever change, he was as dynamic as a concrete block, he learnt nothing and that's why no champoinship side will ever want him as a manager. Maybe his tactics etc work int the scottish prem, and best of luck to him!!!
BartonFox Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 CL yet again proing he is a decent manager at SPL level, shame about is record in the real leagues. What is a real league Perhaps if Rob Kelly hadn't been thrown upon Levein and his team then there might have been a different outcome, as each passing day goes by it is clear which one was the problem.

Although I hate to agree with Barton, I'm thinking he might be right... I mean Kelly was 'forced' upon Levein, pehaps left to his own devices who knows!! One thing is certainly true. Hughes played a lot better under Levein, he was almost good!!!
lcfc_jme Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 I have changed my perception of Craig Levein greatly. He is a fooking nutjob. Broke his own team-mates nose in a game up in Scotland when he played. And was banned for a grand total of 12 games. I certainly wouldn't mess with that bloke in the changing rooms.

An interesting thought that one. But Levein was manager, Levein was pig headed and Levein was responsible for team selection and player performance. Levein kept picking Kisnorbo in midfield and failing to pick Hume at all for spells. It is possible he's "doing some things differently" now as he suggested in an interview after losing his job at Leicester. And if that's the case good luck to him. Pity he wasn't humble enough to change his approach while at Leicester. Kelly too.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 March 2007 Posted 27 March 2007 It's not a hard conundrum to work out really Craig Levein knows the Scottish League he knows Scottish players he knows SPL Football. Craig Levein under estimated the English league he knows much less about English players and he couldn't get his tactics right in the Championship. Craig Levein failed. There ya go, a simple explanation without shifting blame or insulting the SPL. FFS.
