lcfc_jme Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 Pathetic. I don't want to see it. It's a ridiculous idea. Certainly wouldn't be welcomed by me. Milan was drunk at the time of the interview as well.
Joe. Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 You may have seen it posted here before I don't know but i thought it was worth posting. Here
JoeyB Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 You may have seen it posted here before I don't know but i thought it was worth posting. Here Milan Out its stupid, just plain stupid if you ask me tho. basically a team like Chelsea or Liverpool would absolutely kill some teams in lower leagues and it takes out the fun. if we were going to do it we'd have to bring in to extra leagues just to keep the number of games down in all other leagues other wise you could end up with 50 odd games in each league
davieG Posted 21 March 2007 Author Posted 21 March 2007 My point is that football fans are quite happy to take things when it suits them but tell the story from a different angle and extend it a little bit and suddenly it's sacrilege. We'd all love Denilson on loan next season. And Armand Traore and maybe Aliadiere etc etc. I don't believe in loans either, sure there are some plus points but it enables the big clubs to go out and buy up every promising youngster often at a pittance and to the detriment of the player and the lesser clubs and then use the lesser clubs to develop them and keep them fit through the loan system. I think it also has a negative long term effect on these lesser clubs eroding loyalty and creating/increasing the here today gone tomorrow culture amongst footballers. How can fans develop an affinity to a team with 4 or 5 loan players. Give me a bunch of players who are prepared to sign a contract and to commit to LCFC.

I can identify with that to a degree but you have to keep up with the Joneses and it's fairly clear to see the benefit that loan players have given teams in the Championship this season. I think we'd be stupid not to focus our efforts on signing one or two players on loan next season that we wouldn't usually be in with a chance of signing permanently.

It's a short term benefit and if they didn't take these loans you might find the big clubs wouldn't go around signing up every half decent youngster we could then possible see them playing in the championship as part of the team. As for LCFC, I'm not one to cut of my nose etc and of course we should take adavantage of it, I just don't agree with it in it's present form.

In practice, well, it didn't do Craig Levein any favours did it?
Steven Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 I'm in what I refer to as enforced retirment as no wants me We all value you.
Daggers Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 Give me a bunch of players who are prepared to sign a contract and to commit to LCFC. I'd rather have a bunch that possess some talent and desire
davieG Posted 21 March 2007 Author Posted 21 March 2007 I'd rather have a bunch that possess some talent and desire Well I took that as read otherwise we'd be back with Levein's shower of shite.
Nationwider Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 Well that's ****ing great Milan, when we're playing League 1 football next season i don't suppose you'll be so supportive of the idea then.....?? Too right. Shut your trap, Mandy. Get the **** away from the newspapers/tv and start sorting out our football club please. Notwithstanding the fact that he'll hopefully restore our Premiership status very soon, he does talk a load of horsesh*t sometimes.

blue blood Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 this is an absoloute inslt to the FL an absolute insult, he has no **** idea, this makes my blood boil, its a disgrace. if he wants that then why does he not enter a team in the **** scouse northern league of amateurs and see if his team is really good enough to gain promotion up the leagues into the FL, that i dont object to, whatgives those twats the right to dictate what they shouls do, its a disgrace. He has gone right down in my opinion
