Anyone into this in a serious way and can recommend an on-line buying and selling site. I've got a few building society shares I'm thinking of doing something with, well hopefully make them work better for me?

Nt seriously into it but generally buy some, leave them, sell them, i "brought" £500 of shares 2 years ago, would now be worth about £750, shame i didnt really buy them, never mind!

Royal Bank of Scotland share save account. It does the transactions for you and allows you to access everything from share price to number of staff in the company. Not sure how much money has to be in the account though. S'not me, my dad.

I am about to start investing - have had my eye on the markets for ages but not a penny to invest.

Tbh, the trick to avoiding risk is taking a long term view and diversify. If you dont know your stuff you're best off going for a fund - try looking at www.morningstar.co.uk sgood

But if you want an individual trading account, I think Hoodless Brennan is the cheapest, as mentioned above.

The poor sod got it bad from his missus....
