Well, if I didn't laugh I'd cry. :D

Paul Gascoigne on hearing he was the latest player to be linked with City...

And then he realised it was an hour after the deadline...

I'd just like to thank everyone for a good afternoon's entertainment. As someone said, better to laugh than to cry and as I said once to Lenny Henry - there's nothing like a bit of black humour. And we sure get the chance for some practise here. :D

Hold your horses lads, we might have nipped in behind everyone's backs at the last minute.

Let's wait until the morning to see if we actually failed to sign someone or not... there's still a chance. ;)

Yeah tomorrow there could be a press conference saying Kelly has gone, Newell is in and we've signed 4 loan players

there not publishing it on the OS so they can surprise us all tomorow

If anyone's going to nip in behind anyone's back, it'll be Tim Davies.

lol this thread has been great. Ive popped out for a few hours only to return to find we brought in sweet FA. There is no shock there!

BTW I see that the Dodds deal has been elevated to first place on the OS of latest news. The club should be ashamed of itself for putting that news bulletin on about being first for the deals and then asking us to subscribe to the text service when nothing was about to happen! Imagine getting the text...

"News from Leicester City FC - Despite Robert kelly leaving no stone unturned, he has been unsuccesful in bringing anyone in before the deadline" This mesage has cost you £1!!

LATEST FROM THE OS:

Win The Shirts On Ebay

Win the signed shirts of the players you wish we'd signed by bidding on Ebay. All shirts come with an authenticated certificate that no stones were left unturned.

:D

Poor RK had done an OK job last season but is slowly becoming a laughing stock with his inability to manage the club, whether through the media or on the pitch. I would hate for us to continue slaughtering the bloke for another few months before he is told to fook off! He maybe deserves a bit better from us but I doubt he is gonna get it!! :D

What a crock of manky old fishbait.

Great thread, but what a damning indictment of Rob Kelly and his total ineptness.

RK was spot on, telling us all of the stones he turned! PMSL

From the OS

Rob Kelly says he left no stone unturned in his efforts to bring in fresh blood to his squad ahead of yesterday's transfer deadline.

The City boss had confirmed at the start of the week that he was doing everything he could to bring new players to the Walkers Stadium for the run in.

But with Premiership and Championship clubs keen to keep hold on to their best assets, Kelly's efforts proved to be in vain.

In fact across the board there was only one deal on the day that saw a player from the top division on the move to one of City's Championship rivals - Michael Gray making the switch from Blackburn Rovers to Leeds United.

Kelly said: "We have been actively scouring the limited market that has been available to us since the new Chairman arrived and I have been in regular contact with a number of Premiership and Championship clubs with regards to player availability.

"But everyone has still got something to play for in the Premiership. There is a lot of money at stake and therefore clubs want to keep their squads together. Clubs simply won't let their players out.

"We are only interested in players that can move this club forward. I certainly don't want to collect players just for the sake of it.

"Things change from day to day. We have come close to getting in high profile players, but other squad members from that club have got injured and that has therefore made them unavailable.

"We have got some good young players at this football club who need help. We want to be able to add to our mix.

"But that hasn't been possible and we will get on with it. We will continue to monitor the situation."
