Mort Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 £10mil is a hell of a lot for Bale! I think he's a good buy for Spurs and will do well for and with them... it'll be interesting to see if he's played more as a winger rather than a left-back or wing back... but still £10mil seems a bit steep to me.

Not bad. However if he was to move on to one of the top four, then they would sell him for a profit whilst getting a few good years out of him.

The Arsenal support down here are still pretty enthusiastic about Walcott, I wouldn't be surprised to see him make even more impact next season. But I imagine we'll see more of Bale than we saw of Walcott. Bale's going to be a great player, he's far more than just a defender, he's a great footballer. He looks so confident, so comfortable on the ball; even when we played Brazil he was happy to get it down, pass it about and put balls in. He doesn't have the pace of, say, Ashley Cole - but he's strong and he's pretty good in the air and it certainly isn't every full back that gets compared favourably to Ryan Giggs. I've been trying to find the figures, but no luck, however I think I heard that Spurs spent more money than Chelsea last season.
Joe. Posted 26 May 2007 Author Posted 26 May 2007 If he does well at Tottenham which he probably will, there's no doubt in my mind he'll move to one of the big four for a hefty price. Tottenham is probably a good option for him, a good club, and the fact that he might actually play in the first team a lot. Whether he can hack it in the Premiership is yet to be seen, but I think he'll be alright

From a quick look around we've got Berbatov at £10.9million, Malbranque at £2million, Zokora at £8.5million, Assou-Ekoto at £3.5million for Spurs, Rocha for £3.3million, making just over £28million, about £18million of which came from the sale of Carrick. Chelsea spent £30million on Shevchenko alone.
