BartonFox Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 If I was the League I'd seriously think about going to Cardiff or Old Trafford next season because that looks dreadful for their showpiece. Huge banks of seats around the benches and not a soul in them The play-offs are better than anything the Premiership produces and they deserve a better surrounding.

Those empty seats are the 'Club Wembley' seats. I'm not sure why that matters, but I think they are. I agree it does look stupid though.
SystonFox Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 awfull. and the ring around the middle is scarcely populated which looks really bad. but then again if two teams dont have the fans who can you blame? club wembley will be empty tomorrow aswell and d*rby got annoyed cos all the glory hunters want to go still.

Derby reckon they could of sold 70,000
Jay Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 those are the club Wembley seats which means that people have taken 10 year season tickets and the middle tier as well they were the only empty seats for the game yesterday!! Nice one FA

Blackpool only got 31k tickets, and sold them all, bar the £50 and over ones.

SystonFox Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Blackpool only got 31k tickets, and sold them all, bar the £50 and over ones. fair play to them then but why only 31k tickets when each team should be able to take 45k? disgusting. anyone know how many the shaggers r taking
Guest Gist Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 fair play to them then but why only 31k tickets when each team should be able to take 45k? disgusting.anyone know how many the shaggers r taking They sold about 33,000 I think.
Simi Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 They sold about 33,000 I think. Correct. They say they could of sold double that though.
C-man Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Correct. They say they could of sold double that though. There's only about 10 teams in the country which have a fan base of over 70,000, and Derby certainly aren't one of them.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Said this down the pub today. Looks stupid. Yet another shambles from the FA.

Sadly the tinpot league have signed a TWENTY-YEAR deal with Wembley. If there were any half-competent officials working at League HQ, surely they would have sorted out these corporate seats before signing the contract.
Craig Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 They aren't included in the wembley season tickets, that's why they're empty. They get first option to purchase them, but it seems that no-one has second option? :dunno:
Bluefoxtim Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 They aren't included in the wembley season tickets, that's why they're empty. Defeats the object of having the season ticket then?
lcfc_jme Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 It looks piss poor really. The way the new Wembley is being run is a complete farce anyway. If teams have the ability to sell more than the 35,000 allocation I think they're all given, we should let them have more. Football used to be a game for supporters. Now it's all about the money. It's becoming increasingly like a spectator sport for the rich.
Guest Gist Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 :laugh:There's only about 10 teams in the country which have a fan base of over 70,000, and Derby certainly aren't one of them. I bet loads of people in Derbyshire want to go just because its the new Wembley stadium, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did sell that amount given the chance.
Floating Fox Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 They even played the fcking Fa Vase there Which was FC Truro v AFC Totton. I mean 27k Turned out in a 90k stadium!! Okay I understand that it was wembley first year and a big occasion but they'll probably hold it there next season as well

Floating Fox Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Whats the point of playing a non-league game at wembley it looks stupid!
lcfc_jme Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Whats the point of playing a non-league game at wembley it looks stupid! Brings in more money for the FA from TV rights and whatever the fans spend on the day though I'd think? That could be your answer...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Whats the point of playing a non-league game at wembley it looks stupid! I'm sure there are a few Chelsea and Manchester United fans who think the same about holding the League Two Play-off Final there.
Floating Fox Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I'm sure there are a few Chelsea and Manchester United fans who think the same about holding the League Two Play-off Final there. Yeah but thers quite a difference between 25k and 65k I mean Rovers took more than the whole game for the Vase. Yes it is to do with the money grabbing cnts.
