MBK Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 Why is there a quote from me in your sig? Whatever you say is that good. I always reread yours twice to make sure I confirm my impressions. You never fail.

Micky Ruddle Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 When the Bookies say this, (just like last year), the City players take it as if their on an easy ride, and end up finishing towards the bottom half of the league. I just hope that Martin Allen can change this around, and live up to the expectations.
Daggers Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 When the Bookies say this, (just like last year) Didn't they just...and then look what we suffered. Bookies shmookies - I'm happy with mid-table mediocrity and an outside but failed chance of scraping into the play-offs.
Thracian Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 They must be too busy working Saturday's to get the real picture. It was the same two seasons ago - we were going to be up among the pacemakers and they must have used the same tipster. I'm not saying they are necessarily wrong but where is the evidence to justify their opinion?. Are they really being reduced to using a crystal ball cos if they are they should clean it. Nothing has happened so far except we've appointed a serial play-offs specialist as manager at a level two grades above what he's used to since he started working in a suit. If MA's likely budget were represented by a car he'd still be racing a jallopy against jaguars so he's up against it from the off. And somehow he's got to stay with the pace despite having to give his team a complete rebuild - and with components that are hardly guaranteed to be the perfect fit. The bookies could have come up with more appealing bets. Leicester to field the oldest defender in the Championship might have been a good punt. Evens. Leicester to sign more players than their strikers scored goals between them last season. 3/1. Fatty Fry-up to sign for Harry Ramsden's. Evens. But to finish in the play-offs? Bloody hell the manager's got to get back from his holiday's first.
Scow Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 Thracian to praise Fryatt after scoring 5 goals in 17 starts - 500/1
lookwhaticando Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 Thracian to praise Fryatt after scoring 5 goals in 17 starts - 500/1 I'll have a tenner on that one, Scoweh.
Scow Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 I'll have a tenner on that one, Scoweh. Oh shit, I wasn't expecting that.
He's not bald Posted 2 June 2007 Posted 2 June 2007 Oh shit, I wasn't expecting that. A lot more passion and commitment would be good...whatever we achieve after that will be a bonus next season..btw it's still a real slow new's period and I stand by what I said that May 2007 was the most boring month (football wise) ever...here's hoping June is more interesting!

You know its quite a shame that the Independent bookies are a dying breed, I think there are 1 or 2 in Leicestershire that would possibly give you 'Odds to order' but saying that they wouldn't want to take much on odds because of the betting levy and tax they have to pay. Bookies now-a-days are not interested in taking bets on any sporting events or actualy making 'novelty bets' on your local team because there taxed to much. All they want is punters, betting on the cartoon racing and playing the FOBT's Brinkg back the man with his chalk and board and runner i say!
