Lord Nibblington Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 I got told off by Curtly Ambrose once. And Cherie Blair once asked if I was going to be the new Ian Botham. Was this in a related incident? And if it was, why were Curtly Ambrose and Cherie Blair together?
Thracian Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 Hey does anyone know a player called Alex Cisak, just wondering what happened to him and hows he going? Alex only started three Academy matches last season. When I've watched him he made little impression one way or the other. He would certainly be no threat to Logan at this time.
Lillehamring Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 Skippy!Corica was quality... but David Oldfield was something else! oldfield had the best song ever, of course

Thracian Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 Nielsen? The enquirer asked for a comparison against Logan not Nielsen. And I wouldn't be quite so certain of Nielsen winning the jersey on a permanent basis although you do emphasise my repeated point that the dice are demonstrably loaded against "home produced" players as you have clearly decided Nielsen is better. I've no idea if you've seen him play lately, this 29-year-old who's completely new to Championship football, but, for my part, I shall be keeping an open mind on the subject.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 14 June 2007 Posted 14 June 2007 Cisak's been unlucky with injuries but I've seen him play in the past and he's a good all round 'keeper. His first priority will be getting a full season under his belt after this year, which has been a nightmare. He'll more than likely start off next season as first choice in the under 18s but wouldn't be surprised to see him playing reserve games by the end of the season on a regular basis, injuries permitting.
La Bamba Posted 14 June 2007 Posted 14 June 2007 He added me too. He's probably a bit lonely over there.

I didn't, but I'm assuming that MM and MA are aiming to get better players in. Tbh if Aab fans described him as a good shot stopper but bad on crosses we've just got more of the same.

DDK Posted 16 June 2007 Author Posted 16 June 2007 I'm not sure what Thracian is going on about. As for Steve Corica he is intregral part of Sydney FC, he's scored a few great goals. He was one of the best for us during the Asian Champions League. He said one of his regrets was leaving Leicester, as it was probably the best time in his career. If you dont mind me asking how is James Weslowski (I think thats his name) coming along. As for you're new Danish keeper, he apparently lost his place to a 18 year old called Kenneth Stanild .
Jimmy Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 weso needs an injury free season for us to judge fairly, but when he's played he has generally been our best central midfielder

DDK Posted 17 June 2007 Author Posted 17 June 2007 My bad, the guy I was talking to was a angry Brandby fan. They said this guy is a like Aton Villa's Sorenson, good on his day but prone to a few mistakes here and there. As for Kenneth Stanild, he turned down Man Utd and Arsenal and is still at AaB.

When you assign a player, you assume him to be better than what you already have. And how many academy players really go on to excel? It's logical to assume he's better than Logan. Inane.

My bad, well, it still highlights that it doesn't make Nielsen a bad keeper that he was ousted by him.

The sensible approach is to assume that ANY youth prospect is better than a player who has performed well and been on the firinges of the national squad for years. Haven't you read ANY of Thracian's posts?
Jimmy Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 don't know about you but i gave up reading thrac's essay length posts ages ago
The People's Hero Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 don't know about you but i gave up reading thrac's essay length posts ages ago I enjoy them. They are either the work of a top rate satirist and wind up merchant or the ramblings of a man who lost his mind year ago. Either way, there is a certain voyeuristic charm about them.

He might have the vocabulary of a nerdy, keen to impress fourteen year old. But that, my friends, is the logic of an eight year old.
Jimmy Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Not to me it isn't.And if that theory worked we'd never have fallen to the depths we've reached these last couple of seasons. yes obviously we have been intentionally signing players worse then what we have, just to stop your pervertion to the youth team from being exposed in 1st team games

Jimmy Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Who said anything about "intentionally"?. fair point rob kelly clearly couldn't pick a player, his only signing that worked was McAuley, who was spotted by Levein
