Simi Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Me and a few mates are thinking of maybe goin away somewhere in the summer. Camping or a Youth Hostel, along those lines anyway. To be honest I have no idea what's best or anything so I thought I'd ask to see if anyone from here had done anything similar. Obviously we want a place that could keep us entertained etc. So, any advice or ideas?

stez Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Indeed. What do youth hostels think about beer then ? i think they like it, but prefer pale ale and such. there's nowt in their terms and conditions about alcohol, but you'd be better off asking. you thostel edit:when i went to edale we were camping.

I just want somewhere we can go and enjoy ourselves under no limits really. Camping really seems more logical from that point of view. But would camp sites take on 6 16 year olds.
Wezleylowski Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Your going hostelling Ched? I suggest you invest in a Big Johnny Rambo knife to fend off the rabid chavs
potter3 Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Go down to Newquay. There definately a campsite that took 4 16 years olds last year.
city1993 Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 Sounds like a good idea, can't really help you though !!
Zingari Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 buy a big red double decker routemaster bus and drive around europe singing cliffy richard songs
Daggers Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 Me and a few mates are thinking of maybe goin away somewhere in the summer. Obviously we want a place that could keep us entertained etc. amsterdam. Sound idea - there are two campsites right in the city - safe, cheap and easy to get to and probably the best city in Europe for fun and, err, watching the world go by. Catch the ferry over and then train it, or (there used to be) buses direct from London. Mr and Mrs Daggers love Amsterdam. Fact.
SuperSwede Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 You should go to Sweden - You can stay in my storage locker under a tenner!
AoWW Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 You should go to Sweden - You can stay in my storage locker under a tenner! I realise this is a bunch of 16 year old lads but I'm not sure they actually need to be caged. Seems a tad harsh. Plus, they said they wanted a place that'd keep them entertained... ...surely being kept under lock and key in a cage is not exactly what they had in mind? - and anyway, if they want that kinda stuff they might as well go to Amsterdam *cough*.
Smudge Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 buy a big red double decker routemaster bus and drive around europe singing cliffy richard songs I suspect that sailed over many a head. My first date with the present missus Smudge after seeing Leicester at home to Spurs in 1963 was to go and see that miserable bleedin fillum. She liked him and I was trying be accomodating............. didn't get me far though.
SuperSwede Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 Plus, they said they wanted a place that'd keep them entertained... You haven't seen my drunk neighbour doing a strip tease nor seeing a moose take a crap!
AoWW Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 You haven't seen my drunk neighbour doing a strip tease nor seeing a moose take a crap! Hmm, fair point - can't say I have.

Can you pitch your tent in a park?
Daggers Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Can you pitch your tent in a park? As challenges go, that's a bit weak Cis. How about daring them to pitch it on the central reservation of the M1...now that is a dare.
cisono Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 As challenges go, that's a bit weak Cis.How about daring them to pitch it on the central reservation of the M1...now that is a dare. Indeed that would be. However, I was just referring to the fact that I am not sure what would happen if you did pitch your tent in Vicki Park, for instance...
Zingari Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Indeed that would be.However, I was just referring to the fact that I am not sure what would happen if you did pitch your tent in Vicki Park, for instance... as a young lad we tried camping in bradgate park and were rudely awakened at about 4 in the morning ended up breaking into one of those chalets nearby as we were freezing even though it was summer
