foss1884 Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 This may not seem a relevant point to many, but i think that this minor instruction by Martin Allen to the training ground staff is an indication of his commitment and determination to succeed by installing a positive sense of identity that rubs off on to the players. He literally wants them to play for the shirt, by being immersed in the club colours through the landscaping at Belvoir Drive. Blue, white and yellow flowers might not seem a great idea, but it certainly demonstrates that Martin is intending for the players to have some pride in playing for Leicester. They are sacred colours after all. Nice touch, Martin!
LCGJess Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 When the players are training they'll only lob the balls over and squash the flowers.
Master Fox Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 When the players are training they'll only lob the balls over and squash the flowers. Those silly players, when will they ever be good? I don't know???????
LCGJess Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Trust a woman to be the first to reply. Oii. I'm just saying, the players won't care about the flowers.

LCGJess Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Those silly players, when will they ever be good? I don't know???????
LCGJess Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 ooooooo nice touch though but will it really have any effect? Yeah when you go to see them train you get stung by a bee.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 I doubt that will have any effect on the players whatsoever
Wezleylowski Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 When the players are training they'll only lob the balls over and squash the flowers. They better **** not do. Surely they would realise that they are the club colours and would have respect for them. Oh i forgot none of our players give a toss

BartonFox Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Yeah when you go to see them train you get stung by a bee. Martin Allen is going to ban hangers-on and groupies from the training ground
Floating Fox Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Martin Allen is going to ban hangers-on and groupies from the training ground  Genius.
The Reverend Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Seems a bit random..... But Allen was a gardener
Jonbluefox9 Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 If you get the small things right the bigger things will follow. The training ground should be the focus of the whole football club. It's where the performances on matchdays are created therefore it is imperative that it is a productive place.
Tubes Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Pointless, focus on getting players. i wouldnt say its actually pointless i think i think its a good idea and is basically giving the players no excuses should they fail to perform not that they would blame not having colourful flowers at the training ground
Daggers Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Sounds more like we're going to Brighton the place up than Brighten it up. Outstanding work
