The People's Hero Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Was this before or after he was definitely going to be unveiled as West Ham's new boss, Ultra?
potter3 Posted 26 June 2007 Author Posted 26 June 2007 fooking English. Will you ever give up? Ronaldinho's free kick was blinding, and deserved to win. Sol Campbell's "goal" would never have been given in the Premiership in a million years. You can't touch the goalkeepers these days, whether that's right or wrong, and Terry (I think it was) clearly did. The end. Get over it. Move on. Thankyouvermuchmate! Well to be honest I was on about how Ronaldinho's free kick was untoppable, whether he meant it or not, Sven couldn't be blamed for it. And I can't remember the Portugal game very well, I was going along with hwat my rwxtion was at the time Actually we lost five. France beat us at Euro 04 with two Zidane goals in the last two minutes when we should really have killed the game off long before then. Forgot about that...but they were both from set-peices again.
Ultra Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 every single player in the England squad is overrated. Don't think their accountants or bank managers would agree with you. Or their club managers, many of whom usually know quality players when they see one, and have been known to get the odd decent game from them. Or the writers who compose the European/world player of the year/season polls in which many of this bunch regularly feature. It's really a question of having a decent manager, which England have lacked since Bobby Robson left.
Stevosevic Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Actually we lost five. France beat us at Euro 04 with two Zidane goals in the last two minutes when we should really have killed the game off long before then. But in his later years good England performances were far outnumbered by crap ones. How many times, for example, did we play well in last year's World Cup? Given the talent at his disposal we underachieved big-time. And his mistakes with squad selection cost us dearly. He'd passed his sell-by date and the FA were right to get rid. Oh yes another missed penalty by Beckham. That was our best chance of winning something in recent years, 1-0 up against Porutgal, Rooney was unstoppable at the time but in typical England fashion things went tits up, he got injured and the rest couldn't finish the job.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 We had good players under Sven. But so did France, Brazil and Portugal when we lost to them. Northern Ireland was the only real utter balls up.
Ultra Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 We had good players under Sven. But so did France, Brazil and Portugal when we lost to them. Northern Ireland was the only real utter balls up. Brazil 02 - England take the lead and end up losing. France 04 - the same Portugal 04 - the same, AGAIN. We expect this crap from the likes of Kelly and Adams. We should have expected rather more from Sven, especially considering what we were paying him.

Shit happens loads of teams give away leads, 3 in 5 years against teams with world class players doesn't give you grounds to call him a shit manager. Your just typically English, and think that any half wit can win the World Cup with England as we're the best. It doesn't work like that.

We expect this crap from the likes of Kelly and Adams. We should have expected rather more from Sven, especially considering what we were paying him. They are quality teams. You drone on about how good English players are... but can't accept that those are good teams too? You just don't know anything about football at all. You constantly embarrass yourself with your opinions which are nothing more than reproductions of whatever the Daily Mail guy thinks about the state of English football... but even then you over-simplify those mind-numbingly shallow, banal and under-thought arguments. I just cannot be arsed to argue with you because you refuse to see. You don't want to learn.
lookwhaticando Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Northern Ireland was the only real utter balls up. Ah but Northern Ireland had a wizard of a consultant on their side - one Les Reed. He was the difference on the day... so he says.
Leonisco Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 QUOTENeil Warnock claims he would be a better choice than Sven Goran Eriksson to be Manchester City's new manager. Eriksson is tipped to be Stuart Pearce's successor at the City of Manchester Stadium once Thaksin Shinawatra completes his takeover of the club. There has been a mixed reaction to the impending appointment of the former England coach, who boasts a club CV few can match. But Warnock, who left relegated Sheffield United at the end of last season, feels he would be capable of performing a better job at City than the Swede.......... As much as I hate the man, I actually think he probably could.

Leonisco Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Noo Read the rest of the thread No offence, but IMO the rest of the thread's bollocks.
potter3 Posted 26 June 2007 Author Posted 26 June 2007 No offence, but IMO the rest of the thread's bollocks. yeah especially the quote in the first post edit: Ermmm...what the fook is meant to be, it replaced the : whistle : smiley
Leonisco Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 yeah especially the quote in the first post Meh, you could be right. Either way, I couldn't care less, they're both tossers.
potter3 Posted 26 June 2007 Author Posted 26 June 2007 Meh, you could be right. Either way, I couldn't care less, they're both tossers. Yeah but the main issue is now, what is ---> that?!
Flynny Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Sven's got a good club pedigree, was a good manager of England (not great), and has contacts all over europe from his club and international days. He could do very well here, or he could completely fail to adapt to the Premiership and be utterly shit. There's not really any way of knowing. His record with England was mostly excellent. The exits in major tournaments were disappointing, but not really down to him. Seaman suddenly turning crap in '02, disallowed goal in '04, and penalties in '06. On top of that, he gave Ulrika Jonsson a seeing to before she had the neck of a turkey. Whats not to like? Warnock did pretty well with Sheffield Utd last season, but I don't think he did well enough to justify a new job, and resigning for something better when they went down strikes me as a fit of egotism on his part
Leonisco Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Yeah but the main issue is now, what is ---> that?! Looks like the kind of face you pull when you've just farted in a lift. Kinda proud of yourself but at the same time hoping no-one notices it was you.
Leonisco Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 He could do very well here, or he could completely fail to adapt to the Premiership and be utterly shit. Want a cushion while you're on that fence?
Flynny Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Want a cushion while you're on that fence? There's no way of knowing at all, though, is there? Much more fun to rate the relative merits of the women he's boffed. I'm leaning towards him being moderately successful, in my head, but if he did fail I wouldn't really be suprised.

Much more fun to rate the relative merits of the women he's boffed.I'm leaning towards him being moderately successful, in my head, but if he did fail I wouldn't really be suprised. OK then. Ulrika Jonsson - butt ugly, gold-digging slag. Faria Alam - butt ugly, gold-digging slag. Nancy Dellolio - butt ugly, gold-digging slag. You're right, that was fun. Now, hands up who thinks Man City are going to get relegated next season.

Nancy Dellolio looks like Jocelyne Wildenstein after a rough night. If you really think Man City are going down, put a bit of money on it. Tenner sound good?
Leonisco Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 I see you've even done them in order of ugliness. Excellent. Nancy Dellolio looks like Jocelyne Wildenstein after a rough night. Who? If you really think Man City are going down, put a bit of money on it. Tenner sound good? Hmmm, they probably won't go down, but I can't see them improving on this season.
Flynny Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Who? Hmmm, they probably won't go down, but I can't see them improving on this season. Google the name. But not just after you've eaten. She's hideous. And maybe not. I see them having a rough patch and then improving rather than starting brightly and fading.
potter3 Posted 26 June 2007 Author Posted 26 June 2007 Who? Here Don't look if you have a nervous disposition
