How to turn the Walkers into a Fortress.....

In my Humble opinion, we struggled big time when at home and the visitors would set up shop. By that I mean not wanting to loose and/or catch us on the break. We did'nt have the Calibre of players last season to make the Visitors tremble ! This season we are going to be among those that should finish in the Top 6, teams will continue the trend of frustrating us at Home.

Obviously, there are plenty of speculation about possible new additions on the Creative side of the ball, and to date the current crop of signings would be graded at a C+, they all have the same common theme, they have something to proove! Either coming back from injury and/or young players that have been on trial at a higher level & not made it ! mainly that they have not cost us anything is a bonus...

I want to see the type of players that can break down defence's, deliver accurate pacey crosses, defend set pieces very well & center halfs that score goals from time to time, strikers that know how to finish, and most importantly a system that encourages a blend of tactics, direct when you need to, but play football.

Play players in their best position, no exceptions. We have the money, we have the support & we must get back to the Premier league.

What do you think ?

I agree. We all need to show the same commitment to the team that we expect to see from the players. The Birmingham home game last year was the best atmosphere for years and it really inspired the team, we need to recreate this every week not just on the odd occasion. This will really help out the lads on the field and also make it more enjoyable for us as fans. Despite the fact we lost the brum game i went home feeling the happier than i had all season because of the fantastic second half atmosphere, imagine the feeling if it was the same but with a win to go with it aswell.

We'll need to be facing the abyss that is Division 3 for that to happen, I'm not sure I'm up to another season hovering in the bottom 3.

if we can eventually do all of what you suggest , why not employ the same tactics away from home :dunno:

Generally as the away team, the onus would be on the home team to come at us. Unless we are leading the division etc. Teams will come into the Walkers with a game plan, we need quality to break them down.

Strap yourself in as we all know what is coming.

It's masochistic enough just going without having to strap myself in!

I'm loving the random capital letters in this post.

Can we have a moat?

I'd love a moat.

And a dragon.

No, scrap the dragon, it'll just encourage more of The Welsh to turn up with their leeks.

I rather we play our own game, and play to our strengths, rather than adapting to the opposition, and I would rather we did this home and away. I like to think half of the problems that we've had are down to inconsitent team line ups as previous managers have chopped and changed personnel to accommodate the opposition.

...and boiling oil.

I think pouring some boiling oil on people is very important when creating a fortress.

I can name six people already that I'd like to pour boiling oil on. Give me a few minutes and I'm sure I could make it seven.

We need the basic ingrediants to a team, not the odd individual playing well one week and then another the next, a set of players with an understanding of each others games can produce the required quality both in defence and attack. Hopefully we can assemble a side that can go forward as a unit and defend as one with someone in it or more than one who can deliver quality at dead balls and set plays. It should be that simple.......however we chose to support Leicester City, not Real Madrid :frusty:

Yeah, and arrows and armour for fans and swords.

And a back line.

And a goalkeeper that can kick further than me.

And some songs other than those scary ones we sing like 'come on leicester' 'leicester till i die'- where's the originality gone, anybody remember:

julian, julian, stormin down the wing,

" " " ", no-ones catchin him

when he's got the ball, he always......?

And stocks at half time for last weekends worst performer.

Mandaric could take congrual rights for wag's to breed sense and discipline in to the ranks.

And crossbows.

And stick an extra quid on pints and pies in the away end and make that corner colder.

That covers what most clubs set out to do every season! Reality tells u sthat there are so many factors to look at from form to injuries and the team geling.

With regards to turning the Walkers into a fortress, many have been trying to re-create the better times at Filbo but at the moment we are struggling. With that said, I have no doubt that if we start the season well and some of these players who have question marks hanging over there heads (Cort, Nielsen, Hellings) start to show some real ability, we can, with our fans turn the Walkers into a fortress.

The good thing is MM has admitted today that we may have another 4 or 5 signings to come, lets hope that they are the proven quality that we require to give us more options.

I'd have paid real cash money to have been able to lob pies and stuff at Andy Johnson before matches.

Stocks or no stocks.

How to turn the Walkers into a Fortress.....

Shoot all the away fans as they make their way to the stadium

Its all about giving away free flags then everyone bringing them to every match apart from the first match. It worked last season!

Although a more radical idea I suggest 20,000 beach balls to throw around the ground and at corner takers.

Posted
Even more radical idea: sending us all on a beach holiday to bond

Where's to bond???

Is it a district in Southern France!!!?? lol

(Sorry daggers!!!)
