first day picture special

A little worried how obsesed he is with the facilities though

Oh get off it. :P

Seriously - there's more to managing/coaching a football team than signing a few new players.

Martin Allen is his own man, he has his own managerial style, it obviously differs from previous regimes (who didn't have a sports scientist, for example). He needs to set up the training ground so it works for him and his management style. If pissing about with the restaurant and an operating theatre helps propel us up the league table, I'm all for it.

I am more than happy to allow him the chance to set the place up for his reign - if it helps him do his job effectively, it gets my vote. Besides, these negotiations are hardly critical - the transfer window only opened a couple of days ago, officially, and players are only just coming back to their clubs for pre-season.

Keeping a lot of squad numbers spare for midfielders it seems... can only be a good thing.

One thing does make me wonder, which number is Kisnorbo end up with? Could of course be the case that these are essentially provisional numbers, the new signings probably have "their" numbers but the rest of the squad could still be waiting for their definite numbers perhaps...

I'm pretty sure these numbers aren't accurate.

I thought trainingwear numbers were different to squad numbers?

Theres a way to cheat and thats hit refresh and quickly put cursor over the pic, right click and then properties. It saves all that print screen and editing.

Doyle... he's obviously going to be involved with the training sessions usually.

Gradel & Odihambo - two of the Premier League Academy winning squad. Their squad numbers don't immediately suggest they're that significant.

Dodds & Sheehan I imagine.

Joe Mattock has lighter hair and is pictured in the middle, here:

 Dodds, Sheehan, Stearman and Weso across the front.

Andy Johnson (10)

Kisnorbo (3) and Tiatto (11)

You get the idea... ;)
