General Smuts Posted 1 August 2007 Share Posted 1 August 2007 I remember doing this on myspace a year or so back and then a similar thing was on Colin Murrays show on tut radio t'other day and were wondering what you think what the soundtrack to your life would be? On Colin Murrays show for example he did his through the stages of birth to death including all the signinficant points throughout peoples lifes such as first day of school, first job, losing the v plates, first love, mid life crisis, retirement etc etc... Whereas when i did it on myspace last year the outline i had was a bit different as it was in the form of a movie and as an actual soundtrack. Below is that outline and what i chose, (bear in mind this was July last year) Opening Credits: Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol Waking Up: Awake - Dashboard Confessional Falling In Love: Falling For You - Weezer Fight Scene: Oh Yeah - The Subways Breaking Up: Boy's Don't Cry - The Cure Make-up: Boats And Birds - Gregory And The Hawk Secret Love: She - Elvis Costello Life's Okay: Hash Pipe - Weezer Mental Breakdown: Can't Stand Me Now - The Libertines Driving: I Could Have Had You - Dan Sartain Flashbacks: City Traffic Puzzle - The Hush Sound Happy Dance: Two Left Feet - The Holloways Regretting: Everything Reminds Me Of Her - Elliot Smith Long Night Alone: Jealous Guy - Elliot Smith Final Battle: Juicebox - The Strokes Death Scene: Music When The Lights Go Out - The Libertines Final Ending: Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now - The Smiths Credits: In The Waiting Line - Zero 7 Either use that outline or use the Colin Murray outline of big expieriences in life and lemme know what yours would be ... James. Posted 1 August 2007 Share Posted 1 August 2007 Final Battle: Death In Vegas - Dirge Now there's an act that doesn't get enough attention from me nowadays. Dead Elvis (their debut) and Contino Sessions (2nd album) are about as different as you can get but I used to batter both of them. Need to dig those bad boys out again. The People's Hero Posted 1 August 2007 Share Posted 1 August 2007 Contino Sessions was probably my favourite album at one time. Criminally, I think I've lost and not even replaced it. Didn't even miss it till you just mentioned it.

Flynny Posted 1 August 2007 Share Posted 1 August 2007 I've only got Scorpio Rising. I assume it's worth grabbing t'others? I thought it'd be poor at first, and only nabbed it for the dreamy track that was on Lost in Translation.

The People's Hero Posted 1 August 2007 Share Posted 1 August 2007 Contino Sessions pisses all over the others in my very humble opinion, especially Dirge, Aisha and Flying. I used to have 2 albums - Contino Sessions and one other. Contino Sessions was the one which I preferred. Flying is a great track - as Fez points out. In fact, Dirge and Aisha are great too. Worth tracking a copy down if you've not heard it.

Contino Sessions is indeed quality. I really like Dead Elvis too, it's worth getting just to see the contrast in styles they're capable of. Haven't actually listened to Scorpio Rising, I'd heard it wasn't up to much.

James. Posted 1 August 2007 Share Posted 1 August 2007 I was just saying I'd like to meet a woman with that sort of taste in music. The last gig my sister went to (yes, I do have one) was James Morrisson. The painful irony being that it was me who took her for her birthday. She enjoyed it immensely. I tried not to be sick. Probably a great place to pull though - just turn up, obviously on your own and try to look interesting, misunderstood and sensitive - on a VERY superficial level.
