Alexikokopops Posted 11 August 2007 Posted 11 August 2007 The Lincolnshire Echo had high hopes for young Louis... Unfortunately it didn't quite go to plan. (I don't think I've ever put this much effort into a post, I scanned and everything)
Jonbluefox9 Posted 11 August 2007 Posted 11 August 2007 I like the way that the article says that the opposition were going into the game without any recognised left backs and therefore felt it wasn't necessary to draw an opposition player in the left back spot. Did they really think Shrewsbury would not play anyone there at all?
Thracian Posted 11 August 2007 Posted 11 August 2007 The Lincolnshire Echo had high hopes for young Louis... Unfortunately it didn't quite go to plan. (I don't think I've ever put this much effort into a post, I scanned and everything) I thought the idea was to send players somewhere to aid their development. Seems Dodds has played right wing and left midfield so far. Didn't anyone tell Lincoln the guy was a striker?
Alexikokopops Posted 11 August 2007 Author Posted 11 August 2007 Also, he appears to be held in high regard: The management team appear to have added quality rather than quantity, with the additions of Louis Dodds and Ben Wright particularly impressive Another quote from the Echo.

I feel I need to point out that this is the same paper that had the second biggest story of yesterday as the introduction of new wheels on trolleys at one of the Tescos in Lincoln. Big news over this way.
Geo V Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 Ive read everything and am prepared to rate Dodds over the course of the season ala Thrac. He didn't get the service his abilities deserve and it was like Bergkamp playing amongst a team of amateurs but being starved of the ball. His team got dicked but he was head and shoulders above everyone else. +3 start (running total 3)
Geo V Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 He scored today. Good on him. Lets hope he keeps it going.
LCFCIMPS Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 Louis Dodds Dodds Dodds good player. hopefully he'll gets us some more.
Alexikokopops Posted 23 August 2007 Author Posted 23 August 2007 Here's his goal, along with the others. Lovely stuff. Bit of an idiot commentating. When Mark Stallard scores his Henry-esque curler the commentator calls him Martin McIntosh about 5 times (McIntosh is the defender that diverted N'Gessan's effort in, and calls Jamie Forrester "Stallard". Anyway, I'm popping down to see Dodds in action this Saturday. Nice. Oh, and Dodds also described Lincoln as technically gifted enough to play in the Championship. Interesting.
Alexikokopops Posted 25 August 2007 Author Posted 25 August 2007 Saw him play today. In brief: First half anonymous really, but it was a poor performance by Lincoln. They still went 1-0 up through N'Guessan. Second half Lincoln improved, and so did Dodds. He was playing on the wing (right first half, and first part of the second half, then on the left wing), with N'Guessan on the other. He got the second goal for Lincoln, due to some excellent work by Mark Stallard (he's big and ****' hard, better than Frank Lampard), and generally looked lively. Went off on 78 minutes to a standing ovation and "Louis Dodds, Dodds, Dodds". Not man of the match though, N'Guessan got that honour and rightly so. N'Guessan and Dodds are Lincoln's joint top scorers with 2 goals each. Steady away, steady away. On a side note, Lincoln are verging on Thracian's 4-2-4 formation, heh.
LCFCIMPS Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Briliant again. Louis Dodds Louis Dodds, Louis Louis Dodds gets the ball scores are goals Louis Louis Dodds. Great win again. great work by stallard to set dodds up n N Guessan got first
Alexikokopops Posted 25 August 2007 Author Posted 25 August 2007 Louis Dodds Dodds Dodds Did you take that? You can't have been that far away from me. Stallard was fantastic for Dodds' goal. It amused me when the Accrington defender gave up trying to tackle N'Guessan and just hacked at him instead, ha.

N Guessan was brilliant again n yes that Accrington defender did just hacked him down. Think hand or someone then went face to facewith the player. Well done on your 4-1 win aswell.
Geo V Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Quality going Doddsy. Lets hope he continues to score and improve whilst on loan.
LCFCIMPS Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Dag n Red next weekend away,Dag n Red lost 4-0 today n sit bottom of the league so hopefully we'll get another good win . Dodds to score again.
Staf Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Well played Louis, Tommy Wright scored aswell (hes not on loan but hes ex leicester)

Bloody hell I didn't guarantee he'd score every week but he seems well on his way to 15. I'm sure someone bet me a pint on that!
Cobbo Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 I saw his goal on the Championship - nice little finish, striker's goal (although he is apparently a winger now). Any chance of him coming back as an asset for us after this year away I wonder? I doubt it myself but good luck to him.

I doubt it myself but good luck to him. Time will tell but I don't know why you should doubt it. The vast majority of the goals I've seen Dodds score would have been goals at any level. He's not an elaborate player like Fryatt. His goals are more of the one touch and bang variety or a deft free kick here, an opportunist toe-poke there. Sixty-five goals in three seasons and two in three so far this season is encouraging. I'm a bit concerned about him being moved all over the place because I've no doubt he's a striker but 15 goals and a few assists will make a loud enough statement I'd imagine and I've no doubt that, given chance, he'll achieve it.
Alexikokopops Posted 3 September 2007 Author Posted 3 September 2007 In Friday's Lincolnshire Echo he said he was hoping Lincoln would make a contract offer because he didn't have a clue what his future would be at Leicester given Martin Allen's departure.
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Wonder if he'll play for the Lincoln Reserves tonight. Unlikely.
