Dodds Watch

They're not playing him up front though are they? and he was left out completley in mid week so he might be coming back from a knock of some sort. Either that or falling completley out of favour which I would find strange, I would of thought he's good enough to get into their side.

Ask Thracian he seems to quite disturbingly know alot about the lives of certain players both on and off the field.

:|

They bought on two strikers and a winger so maybe Dodds isnt playing as a forward for them as it would be strange to have 5 subs and 4 of them attackers. I think Thrac has advised the Lincoln staff that Dodds could mature into a fantastic centre-half, ala Heskey lol

On a serious note its not doing him or his confidence any good to be on the bench in D2. He should go elsewhere and get a run of games, even if it means stepping down into the conference again.

He can play centre mid, apparently. I've herd thats where they've been playing him, which might go some way in explaining why he's been dropped if it's due to performance as the lads one of the most out and out strikers I've ever seen play.

If I'm honest I'm not bothred about him, his potential, or his career. I don't even know why we bothred giving him an extension if all we had planned was a year out on loan at Lincoln. I don't see him ever getting a chance in a city shirt so therefore if his sitting on Lincolns bench it's his problem not ours, it was only a few weeks ago that he was ranting in the press how great it was there, how good the football was and how much better Lincoln were at passing the ball than us (despite him never having played for us  ) and how he would like to stay there. :dunno:

As I say he might be coming back from injury.

EDIT: Reading up it seems he went off injured on September 30th so this is probabley the case.

It could be the injury as you say or maybe his missus being about to drop Louis Junior had something to do with it.

I get why we would loan out any of the academy players who haven't had a long run in the first team as we wouldn't want to be giving away a rough diamond. Players obviously react differently to different occasions and I suppose it was possible someone like Dodds who had a good scoring record at academy level could have stepped up.

With someone like COG we managed to see him in the first team to realise that it was unlikely he would be good enough for Championship level so were happy to sell him on. With LD, the club seem unsure and didn't want another David Nugent, Phil Jagielka or even Billy Sharp scenario of giving away a kid and seeing him become quality in a year or two.

Well yes, I did say to bet on Dodds becoming the father of a little boy three months ago. But there was always going to be a 50-50 chance anyway, wasn't there? :D

But of his situation at Lincoln I really couldn't say. As soon as he commented on how much he liked it there, and their style of football, I presumed he would eventually sign for them and that would be that.

Honestly I would rather he'd have stayed and fought his corner at City like Sheehan but since hat comment I've only taken a passing interest in his performances.

It really is quite ironic that Sheehan looked to have little chance at Leicester at the end of last season yet turned down a loan move and has made quite an impact on the first team while Dodds accepted a loan and has drifted into apparent obscurity when he would surely have been worth at least a place on our bench.

How life can change according to which fork in the road you take.

Not the fact that Louid Dodds being a huge pile of crap has anything to do with it?

Is anybody else slightly perturbed by Martin Allen's attire on the TV today? Slightly dodgy in my opinion! I have arrived at the belief that Mr Mandaric sacked him due to his waistcoat collection. Any thoughts on my pointless observation?

The waistcoat was fine - it just didn't go with his natty yellow pullover.

Perhaps Sky should have advised him on colour co-ordination.

As for Dodds, not surprised he didn't get a game yesterday if he's just become a dad. His mind wouldn't have been on the match.

But I'm sure he'll be back soon. The imps were woeful in attack yesterday. Isn't he their top scorer this season?

Dodds is top with 3, ahead of Forrester and N'Guesan on 2 and Stallard on 1, according to the imps website.

Not bad, considering he's largely been used as a midfielder.

Thats league goals.

Stallard scored a brace against Hartlepool in the Johnstons paint he's got three in all comps.

He's big and he's fooking hard,

He's better than Frank Lampard,

I've watched many players at Leicester who might have been described in that way at one time or another - including some of our recent signings - but Dodds is not one of them. He's been better some days than others but I've never seen him play really badly.

Managerial changes all over the shop, where does our Louis stand now?

Perhaps heading for a record in the number of managerial bosses in such a short time I reckon.

Adams, Levein, Kelly, Northwich Victoria boss, Rochdale boss, Worthington, Allen, Beaglehole/Stowell (temporary), Megson, Schofield (Lincoln) in under four seasons.

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone! :D

You missed out the Basset/Wilkinson dream team. ;)

Like who?

I don't rate any of our strikers really.

I think DJ has shown on the rare occasion he might have something, Fryatt still doesn't convince me, Hume slightly overrated, and we all know about the others (including Elvis)

There is absolutely no question whatsoever, if Dodd’s were good enough then he’d be in our squad. The fact he’s playing at Lincoln says it all. If Matty Fryatt is keeping you out of an average championship side then there’s obviously a problem.

It's when Mark Stallard and Jamie Forrester keep you out of the teamt thats second from bottom in League Two that you start to contemplate a career in mullet modelling.

Doesn't that give you an image of some Chas'n'Dave-a-like Lincoln fan spitting on to anyone who will listen about chosen men and it's what players do, not what they don't do.

lollollollol

I didn’t realise it had gone that bad!!! I see he didn’t get a game against MK Dons the other day.

That really is as low any professional football player can get. Looks like Dodds will be playing in Ryman’s Doctor Martins League Conference Division North soon.

How the hell Thracian still believes Dodds has any chance of playing in the championship is absurd.

Jamie Forrester is a a chosen man, he played in Holland you know, in the Erdevise no less.

In fact why am I telling you that, Northampton Town bought him off Utercht lol.

I was going somewhere with this and I've completley forgotten where.

Seeing as he's Lincoln's top scorer (playing in midfield rather than striker) and has consistently decent ratings I imagine he was carrying a knock.

The sooner he moves to a club which will play him as a striker the better.

And while people like Mark DeVries, Carl Cort, D.J. Campbell and even Fryatt are chosen to play in the Championship I don't see why Dodds should have a problem.

Nothing against those players mind. They've all had their moments. But Dodds would match or beat any one of them over a season.

lol no he wouldn't, and Isn't it just a shame that the back room staff at the 90 clubs above are above Lincoln in the English footballing League agree with me and not you.

He's on loan in League Two for the second season in a row, he looks a usefull player at that level, but it looks his level, he's now 21. It doesn't take a genius to work out which way his career is going.

Our current group of strikers may well be crap, but comparing Louis Dodds is like comparing them to the average man on the street. Dodds has never played a full 90 minutes in the championship and never will, so there’s no point even discussing the matter. It’s evident to the rest of the football world that he’s total crap and has no future in the game. I really don’t understand why you have such an affiliation with Dodds? It’s bizarre.
