Same crap different season

Recommended Posts

The reason i'm so pissed and finding it so hard to take is it another loss, lost in the same way (Ok maybe we played marginly better yesterday) and it's been going on for 4 years+ now, for me its not "just 1 competative game of the season" it's getting abit tired, boring and tedious now, season after season, game after game you can almost gaurentee a loss, yesterday I felt different I had optomism, and then at the end of the game it was just a kick in the teeth.

Prehaps this is being slightly naive and many newly promoted teams have gone on to do well in there first season in this league but we have all said this season we need to show improvement atleast, and IMO if we are going to improve we have to be beating teams like Blackpool, that's not being disrespectful to Blackpool, and as I said prehaps i'm being slightly naive and maybe Blackpool will be one of the surprise packages.

Wahey! That's the spirit! Way to get behind the new manager and players!

But we DID create chances Matt...

I can understand your upset,as we all are.

BUT look back at it without emotion and we SHOULD have won.

Remember Bpool did go about 11 games undefeated at the end of last season so they ad alot of confidence.

Just hope the lads now realise that EVERY game is gonna be tough, and just showin up aint gona get 3 points

Don't get me wrong, I'm not pleased about yesterday's result in the slightest, we should have won, and sent a message out to all other play-off hopefuls. However, this is a new regime, with new coaches, new management, and new players. We cannot expect them to gel together immediately. I can understand your dissapointment at our lack of anything remotely resembling a team over the past few seasons. The fact that you, like almost every other City fan, had such optimism is because it will be a good season. Yeterday was one game out of 46.

We'll play much worse this season and get a result! We weren't bad yesterday, You've not got to forget that Kisnorbo and Kaebi weren't there, they'll be big assets I'm sure!

Mattock wasn't the best, but as has been said, he had no real cover on the left to help him out, and he's only a young lad, it's a lot to expect. DeVries did the best I've ever seen him play, but I'm not convinced I want to see him getting a starting role every week, it encourages negative football, a Campbell/Hume partnership is the one I hope will get the nod, with a DeVries/Cort type player coming on for the last few mintues to nick a winner if it comes to it!

Overall, I took a lot of positives from the game yesterday, Chambers impressed me, when I wasn't expecting anything from him, and I liked the way Allen wasn't afraid to throw on more attacking players to get a result, be nice to see a bit more of Hayes though, he looked lively, and Campbell, hopefully he'll get a starting role next week.

I didnt want to say it out loud yesterday but I was thinking "its gonna be one of those days".

Yeah that seems to happen alot with city, no matter who plays for us!!

I reckon the key to this season is........ Patience. Give our team (The blended mixture of youth, experience and new players) time to gel, time to work as a unit. With this IMO come christmas time the team will (should) be around mid-table and ready to challenge for the play-offs.

You think its a bad result now, but they may not be the relegation favourites everyone has them down to be! When we get into a rythmn we will be further towards the top of the table than the bottom!

Blackpool had the joint best away record in league one last season which clearly shows some haven't given Gryson the respect he clearly deserves.

Indeed. It doesn't help though when the back page of the Mercury reads, Mandaric: "I want the premiership now".

If Mandaric had been on the back pages of the Mockery saying "I'm content with mid-table mediocrity", people would have complained about the lack of ambition.

I can see why he's done it; had we beaten Blackpool, with a headline like that the fans would have been eager to then go to the Watford game, some undecided fans may even gamble with a season ticket. It's nothing more than spin designed to get the fans in, unfortunately the players didn't quite do their bit.

The basic cause is surely that with a dozen new players and the consequent piss-poor pre-saeson build up, Martin Allen is not sure yet what his "best" team is. Wesolowski on the wing ought to be evidence enough of that. All you tactical pygmies (if the cap fits) who are complaining about direct football are utter simpletons.

Martin Allen will have learnt more against Blackpool than gleaned from all those stupid waste of time friendlies put together. I predict he will go full scale all out direct football in the next two games and no player will be allowed to stand in the way.

A few of you are going to have to learn that it is possible to lose games and it's not the end of the world. We had over 20 shots on goal yesterday and came agonisingly close on three or four occasions. There were weak points but we expected this before the game.

It may take a few weeks or even months for this side to come good - look at Wolves last season. They were hovering in mid-table last winter.

I worry that the majority of our fans seem to be far too impatient and reactionary to allow any time to the new setup at all.

Spot on

was there. bit too soon to condemn it completely. we created a lot of chances even playing hoofball, saying that hoofball is`nt really what i want to watch every week , but if it gets results i`ll take it, all it needed on saturday was someone with a bit of confidence and a bit more ability to put it in the back of the net and we`d have won 3-1. as for bypassing the midfield that baffles me a bit. he bought in clemence to give us a midfield and kishishev and then kicked it over their heads, so as he got no confidence in them or is he looking at strengthening the midfield more and then playing through it. or perhaps he`s just a long ball merchant and we`ll have to put up with it and if he starts getting results i don`t think there will be too many complaints, if he doesn`t get the results i`m sure milan will address the matter.
