I understand you object to John Barnes' commentary and analysis. I should begin by advising that all our programme contributors are appointed on the basis of their experience and talent, and we do not engage any presenter unless we consider that they are the most competent and possess the necessary ability to meet the considerable demands of their particular broadcast. Having said that it is rare for any radio personality to meet with the approval of everyone in our vast and varied audience, and from the heavy correspondence which we receive it is clear that listeners' opinions on them do vary considerably. Nevertheless, please be assured I have registered your comments regarding this issue and have made them available to the BBC Sport team and the senior BBC management. Feedback of this nature helps us when making decisions about future BBC programmes and your comment will play a part in this process. Thank you again for taking the time to contact the BBC. He wasn't looking at the game when we scored one of the goals, or something like that. I seem to recall he was slated by the fans listening to the game so RL got rid of him.
