Glen_lcfc Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Will alcohol be serve in the ground in the Leicester end?
Guest lcfc80 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Sounds like we might have the "home" advantage!!!Shame they dont let us have more tickets as it sounds like we need them, especially if leicester fans are buying tickets elsewhere in the ground. the lads i know have had to go in the forest end as forest wouldn't give us anymore tickets. so hopefully the walk back to the train station will be easier and nicer this time
Guest lcfc80 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 4,000 according to their forum if you go on there don't tell them we are rivals, they go mental
BartonFox Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 We'll get beaten tomorrow night on penalties, we just don't win at the City Ground. Horses for courses and all that.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 We'll get beaten tomorrow night on penalties, we just don't win at the City Ground. Horses for courses and all that. Sadly I totally agree. To be honest though as long as we keep turning in performances like Saturday in the league then I'm not bothered what the result is tomorrow and I'm sure you concur.
Simi Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 I'd say a lot of their fans have decided to stay away because of what they have being producing in the league as of late. Many Forest fans are becoming tired of Calderwoods management, so they see this as yet another nail in his coffin.
Simi Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 If we get an early goal I can't see Forest getting back into the game. Their fans are becoming really impatient with Calderwood and they've not had the best start to the season.
demon_dog Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 From a Forest web site, Why Do They Want Us To Hate Them? Nottingham Forest take on Leicester City in the 2nd round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday and it would appear that City fans are mad for it. So much so that there has been such a scramble for tickets, that NFFC have today issued them with another 900. The total allocation for Leicester will be around 5,300, which is excellent really for the early stages of a competition that is in all honesty a poor relation to the more illustrious FA Cup. The interest in this fixture on Trentside is a little cooler. Not so much a scramble for tickets, more a gentle saunter down to the ground when we have the time and if we can be bothered. After all it's only Leicester City, which isn't exactly a local Derby except for the fact that both sides are in the East Midlands. Everyone in Nottingham knows there is only one true rival for any Forest fan and that is with our old foes from down the A52 at Prideless Park in Sheepshire. The poor Foxes come a very distant second in terms of rivalry and hardly registers on the scale with most fans, but in Leicester it seems that they really want us to hate them and are in dire need of a rival to call their own. Surely the Sky Blue of Coventry would be better suited for them? Apparently not, they are almost insistent that it's us, but as hard as I try I can't do that. At worst I dislike them, but only because of Gary Lineker and his comments about Forest before the Chelsea game last year and also because he's a poor substitute for Des Lynam on MOTD. I suppose if I was pushed I could throw their former player Robbie the Savage into the mix, but even then it 's hardly reason to hate them. You see, you can't make or invent a rivalry, it has to be earned and Leicester have along way to go before they can be considered as our local rivals. 5,300 of them will tell us different on Tuesday and a healthy home crowd will do their best to reciprocate, but don't hold your breath. :fox: All replies to be sent c/o Neil Lennon!!!!
Leonisco Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Oh, who gives a fook whether they hate us or not? We hate them and that's good enough for me.

And if they were in a division above us they'd be scambling for tickets so they could take the piss. makes me laugh forest fans 'pretending' they don't care about us because god they don't half go on about it

Enjoy this "privelage " LCFC fans, we are very lucky to be playing a world-class outfit, apparently. :w00t:
The Reverend Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Its quite obvious why Forest fans keep saying this - because they are scared of losing. By saying the game does'nt matter, they are trying to make our probable win tomorrow count for nothing. Sad, sad people. But would you expect anything less from Nottingham inbreds?
Wezleylowski Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 I find it funny that they do there best to deny we are rivals. Childish really, I'm sure if it where them who had just arse raped a championship promotion contender then most of them would be saying things like " I cant wait for the Leicester game, its not often we get to play one of our biggest rivals". It's like they think they are better than us or something. Oh well we will see on tuesday, When we trounce them.

MTC Fox Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 After them losing against Leeds on Saturday they will be well up for this game. I just hope that MA2 plays a full strength team because if he does, then I can see us getting 3 or 4 past these no hope-ers! If players such as Maybury and Hughes are anywhere near the starting line-up tomorrow then I think it is safe to say that we are in fact doomed and in will not be third time lucky to The City Ground for me!
Floating Fox Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 anyone know any decent places to park ? Council Building next to the trent. Perfect, free & safe.
Jimmy Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 what a twat, for a start coventry is in the west midlands. And if they were in a division above us they'd be scambling for tickets so they could take the piss. makes me laugh forest fans 'pretending' they don't care about us because god they don't half go on about it you do realise that coventry is actually closer then nottingham to leicester
Guest lcfc80 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 you do realise that coventry is actually closer then nottingham to leicester of course i do but the reason Forest and Derby are moreclassed as rivals is because we are all east Midlands
Jimmy Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 of course i do but the reason Forest and Derby are moreclassed as rivals is because we are all east Midlands not really the coventry is treated just the same as games with the other 2 because they are so close by. btw most press just call it midlands derby anyway
Guest lcfc80 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 not really the coventry is treated just the same as games with the other 2 because they are so close by. btw most press just call it midlands derby anyway Wrong, over the years the cov games were treated as a piss take and not taken seriously apart from the hinckley lot. Its only been the last 5 or 6 years it has became a more intense rivalry and as for the NF &DC games not being called East Midlands derbies, get real mate, thats the funniest thing i've read on here allday

Forest and derby have always been our main rivals. Coventries has ALWAYS been Villa
ASH17LCFC Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 what dribble. Forest and derby have always been our main rivals. Coventries has ALWAYS been Villa Villa main derby has always been birmingham not cov.
Jimmy Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 what dribble. Forest and derby have always been our main rivals. Coventries has ALWAYS been Villa having worked with a villa fan i can tell you they dont look upon conventry as any kind of rivals, they ONLY see Birmingham as rivals
davieG Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 they only really get called east midlands derbys in LOCAL media, national simply call them Midlands, coventry has been a big game regardless, its only recently people with a forest fixation started treating them as such Cov has only recently become 'the derby' since neither Derby or Forest have been in the same league as us, Cov didn't even get in to the 2nd division until the mid 60s and the top league until the late 60s and we've never been outside the top two. Prior to this it has fluctuated depending on who we played the most, in the 60's it was most definitely Nottingham. As for the so called Derby/Forest rivalry, although it comes across as more of a love in to me that seems to have escalated after Cloughie did his move across the house.
