Ric Flair Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 I wonder whether Gerry will have one of his games where he is unbeatable or one where he slices every clearance and generally makes a mockery of professional football? The man is a legend and was solid for several years at City, but he sometimes had either a shocking game of a phenomenal game. Let's hope MDV rips the piss out of him and we walk it. Kenwynne Jones is in Stoke's team tonight, not happy. He's class.
Scow Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Kevin Harper is a doubt for the game too - Let's hope he doesn't play. I was very impressed with him in his couple of appearances with us. He had the pace, trickery and skill to beat players, and his crossing wasn't bad either.
Mark Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Oh no, Kenwyne Jones He's scored in about every league game he's played in outside the Premiership for Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday. And I thought we had nothing to worry about when i read Michael Ricketts is in the squad
Ric Flair Posted 22 February 2005 Author Posted 22 February 2005 Stoke have got a really crap team though if you look at it. Most teams have in this league and it's an embrassment how badly we are doing. If we don't win tonight, we have ourselves to blame. Riding on the wave of the FA Cup we should be revved up to really damage Stoke tonight. 3-0 MDV 2 and Connolly
Muz Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Im well looking forward to the game now and im setting off at about 6ish gonna be class. I think we will do them 2-1 but the thought of Jones up against Dublin and Dabizas scares me Im sure Gerry will get a good reception by the City fans
SilverFox Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Gerry Gerry Gerry Just hope the bugger doesn't score...or prevent us from scoring for that matter...but hey, we've got Connolly for that
Bedford Fox Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Gerry Gerry Gerry! Bernies favourite player and a city legend!
MON Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 We shouldn't have let him go, could still do well in this league.
Wellman Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 We shouldn't have let him go, could still do well in this league. 69964 Nah I disagree with that. As much as Gerry was a legend he was letting the team down and we let him go when we got into the premiership *I think*. Taggart isn't a premiership player and never will be again, so that's why we let him go

Jonbluefox9 Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 The difference is, MON, that Matt Heath wasn't good enough for the Premiership but has time on his hands to improve. Gerry was already in his 30s so if he was no longer good enough for the Premiership it was extremely unlikely that he'd ever be good enough again.

But it was the right time to let him go considering that we wer ein the premiership. Micky did give him a chance to show that he still could do well in the premier, but he wasn't good enough anymore.

TrickyTrev Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 Should have kept him, in a different league to Dabizas and Heath.
Cobbo Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 Should have kept him, in a different league to Dabizas and Heath. 70573 To bloody right. Pisses all over that pair.

Pace, trickery, and the ability to put a good ball in. Bassett has a lot to answer for.
