AyewJoking Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 I think Megson will not stand up to Milan if he tries to bring in a big, old and overpaid superstar. Especially if he wants to keep his job. Is this good or bad? I really wanted Hasselbaink, its not as if we have a host of prolific strikers. Mind you, can we only bring in loan players since the transfer window is closed?
DB11 Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 I don't think it is too bad as a prolific, big name player at our club will increase the clubs fanbase. Look how many fans we got when we signed Kaebi (albeit not many - but quite a few signed up to FT to tell us about him etc. and say how they know follow LCFC's results etc.) Also big-name players can pass on their "expert advise" to the youth players etc. so all in all, one or two big name players are ok but not 11 old guys again; please no!
Vennegoor10 Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 if you want a striker proven at this level look no further than rowan vine.
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 if you want a striker proven at this level look no further than rowan vine. hahaha.

Tevez Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 I'll be really suprised to see who he signs, but no doubt it will be West Brom link players such as Clement.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 We will get Pierre Van Hooijdonk if he's still playing
David Guiza Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 i think we should sign lee cook on loan from fulham if they are willing to let him go on loan
Flexx Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 i think we should sign lee cook on loan from fulham if they are willing to let him go on loan Good call, but he might end back at QPR on loan
Asha Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 We will get Pierre Van Hooijdonk if he's still playing Think he is, but old enough to be Mandaric's grandson.
NFFC Chris Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 I'm surpised your all assuming Megson is a yes man,the reason he left West Brom was because he had constant clashes with the chairman Jeremy Peace and constantly falls out with players,Megson is a lot of things but not a pushover!
Joe. Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 i think we should sign lee cook on loan from fulham if they are willing to let him go on loan Yes I'm sure they'd be willing to let him go out on loan after they paid around £4 million for him.
reynard Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Don't know who he will sign if anyone but if he can based on his comments so far and his previous styles of play I would guess he will be looking for rugged experienced old pros for the following positions. 1 Right Back 2 left back 3 left sided midfielder as we only hav youth/inexperienced players in this area. 4 possibly right sided midfielder as experience players only consist of newton. (don't see kaebi as a megson type of player) 5 dogged defensive central midfielder as weso will not carry the right amount of experience required for megson. 6 possibly a big mobile target man. this would allow us to play 2 of these up front. Expect several younger/less experienced player to be farmed out on loan.
David Guiza Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Yes I'm sure they'd be willing to let him go out on loan after they paid around £4 million for him. well has he been starting for fulham?and we might actually score from free kicks and corners if we was to get him
