Manwell Pablo Posted 21 September 2007 Author Posted 21 September 2007 Wayne Rooney?? Yes, the next George Best has looked increadibly ordinary for quite some time now hasn't he.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Seen him play on one or two occasions and he didn't impress me. I also know a Portugese lad from my time in Wolverhampton and he didn't have a good word to say about him. Runs around a lot but often chases lost causes. Can't beat his man and his crosses are dreadful. That said, he might be able to hack it in this division. I try to stay optimistic, and I'm praying to Lord that he makes me eat my own words. I'm sorry, at least 4 appears to be the criteria.
lookwhaticando Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 I love the way everyone puts both of them in their starting line-ups for the next match each week. I also know a Portugese lad from my time in Wolverhampton and he didn't have a good word to say about him. The poor bastard lives in Wolverhampton... he's got nowt good to say 'bout anything.
Dames Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Yes, the next George Best has looked increadibly ordinary for quite some time now hasn't he. Probably because he's got glass feet.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 September 2007 Author Posted 21 September 2007 I'm sorry, at least 4 appears to be the criteria. No you have to have seem them four times to call them quality. 2 is the limit for calling them shit. This should of specified in the original post. Apologies.

Kent Fox Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Probably because he's got glass feet. That's a pane! Bet he's shattered!
lookwhaticando Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 I think that's fair enough. We get the OS tubthumping about what amazing signings both of them were, after all. The OS also hailed such signings as Nielsen and Hellings (three days too soon, even - they were Hots on for Hell') If we believed everything the OS told us, we'd actually have the greatest squad of players ever assembled.
Thracian Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Ferreira only won four caps for Portugal starting some five years ago. He played 106 games over five seasons for Vitoria (averaging just over 20 games a season) and apart from that has never played 20 games in one capaign for any of his other eight clubs except 23 for Porto in 2003/4. In the City Reserves he showed some creativity and speed but wandered here and there and left Kaebi woefully exposed at full-back on several occasions. He hasn't played enough for me to make any sort of final judgement but nor did he do anything to convince me he should be in the first team, much less on the left side. What I'd like to know is whatever has happened to Jonathan Hayes. He's never been heard of since being injured at the beginning of the season.

Yes, thats two times Danish goal keeper of the year Jimmy Nielsen, and ex Ajax and Anderlect wonder kid(and clothes model at FC Twente) Sergio Hellings. Well done Looky thats actually a good point
lookwhaticando Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Yes, thats former two times Danish goal keeper of the year Jimmy Nielsen, and ex Ajax and Anderlect wonder kid(and clothes model at FC Twente) Sergio Hellings.Well done Looky thats actually a good point I'm ever so proud.

Who bought Ferriera and Kaebi? Were they MA or MM dealings? Or Don Mackays?
Dames Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Now we know why Don Mackay was sacked then.Who bought Ferriera and Kaebi? Were they MA or MM dealings? Or Don Mackays? Milan's. Allen said the chairman recommended Kaebi and he liked the look of him And Ferreira was seal not long after Allen left when we were managerless.
lookwhaticando Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 Now we know why Don Mackay was sacked then.Who bought Ferriera and Kaebi? Were they MA or MM dealings? Or Don Mackays? To quote Martin Allen... Kaebi was a player "the chairman brought to my attention" at an early stage. Read into that what you will. Ferreira was post-Mackay... in fact, didn't Ferreira sign while we were managerless... that should tell you whodunit.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 September 2007 Author Posted 21 September 2007 Now we know why Don Mackay was sacked then.Who bought Ferriera and Kaebi? Were they MA or MM dealings? Or Don Mackays? pretty obvious mate, Ferriera was cleary MM as Don and MA were both not at the club. and Kaebi was probabley Don Mackay as well.
lookwhaticando Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 managerless. managerless... that should tell you whodunit. cleary MM as Don and MA were both not at the club. Hattrick!
Milky Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 and Kaebi was probabley Don Mackay as well. Wrong. Allen said Mandaric told him about Kaebi.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 September 2007 Author Posted 21 September 2007 Wrong. Allen said Mandaric told him about Kaebi. ......and Don Mackay could of bought him to Mandarics attention for all you know. Does it matter whos idea it was to sign him anyway. Thats not going to change how good he is.

Manwell Pablo Posted 21 September 2007 Author Posted 21 September 2007 Mandaric said he's followed Kaebi for a long time. Yeah well, he said he'd win the European cup at nice but that wasn't true
Geo V Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 I agree that people do overreact on a player that signs for their club, especially when they are "unknown" players but they do come to the club with some pedigree and we have seen some youtube videos of them to think that they have something to offer the first team or at least given the chance, especially because the positions they are rumored to play (left and right wing) are problem positions for us. Talking of people using the word "quality", can we please ask people to calm down their over-reactions on some of our academy players like Kee and the rest.
Thracian Posted 21 September 2007 Posted 21 September 2007 No you have to have seem them four times to call them quality.2 is the limit for calling them shit. This should of specified in the original post. Apologies. I've seen Kaebi three times and would rate him far higher than Ferreira or Hellings on impressions so far0. I wouldn't play him full-back though, he's a bit kamikazi even for me. But as a right midfielder he looks fit, he's quick, direct, well-balanced, spots a pass and seems to fit in well with the team. He can also put some wicked passes into the box when he gets forward too and is definitely my type of player based on reserve football. Whether he can translate that into the English Championship remains to be seen and, while he sure looks like a proper footballer - perhaps even one of our best on the ball - I imagine he's being schooled for a while in the team basics of zonal marking and collective awareness when the opposition have possession. He'll also be learning his teammates' names and a bit of the language before being plunged into the first team.

Kaebi was hailed beyond belief and Ferreira got his own picture special. The people that have seen Kaebi in the reserves have been impressed and we can all see the videos of his pace for ourselves.

Oh they were the OS shamlessly plugged Sergio Hellings I remember it! A coup! A former Ajax youth product who once cost over 2 Million Euros as I recall, it was ridiculous! Carl Cort was probabley the worst but than that was MA fault as well. I'm not saying they're poor, I'm not even saying that they aren't "quality" however I'd like to see how they play and fit in here before dubbing them quality player, putting them both down in the same lists as players like Clemance and Hume, and saying the could change our season!
