FleckneyFox Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 I think now its got to the point where Mandaric and whoevers in charge in the summer needs to sit down with every player individually and ask them how much they want to be at the club because some of them dont give a shit to be honest and there are rumours of player being pissed off ie DJ and most of all we need players who care and want to play for the club and then we can think about getting promotion today our team was unfit (Cort, Fryatt) inexperienced (Mattock, Sheehan) and just not upto standard (Stearman, Chambers @cm) how Mandaric can be talking about the Premiership baffles me this season now looks like solidarity and hopefully mid-table then push on from there im very tempted to go down on Thursday dont know whether i will. We have some good player and there is a number of reasons they may not be playing well. 1) Dont like Megson, 2) Unsettled by activity @ the club, 3) Not gelled properly yet, 4) Megson is shit. I think about 6/7 players at the club currently could play in the premiership. I just hope that Mandaric or Megson or another manager can sort it out because its down to them. I dont want us to be promoted this season but i just want us to finish in a respectable position because i dont want us to be next years Derby! I dont mind to much how many managers Mandaric goes through as long as a good one doesnt mind working for him and they can attract good players.
BedsFox Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 A number of players are certainly not fit enough A number of players are Out of position..Hume and Chambers most obviously Players seem unsettled, Megson unpopular (he "lost" the players when Forest manager)? Up front they cannot gel, we change the front two every game, its a wonder they know each others names! At centre back we have lapses in concentration game after game In conclusion, with the exception of Clemence and a few others were are mentally not strong enough and do not seem to be a "team" Whilst this may be said to take time, the body language is not encouraging with respect to team spirit.
Daggers Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 I think about 6/7 players at the club currently could play in the premiership. :w00t: You are on crack.
Trumpet Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 :w00t: You are on crack. Pass some this way!
Mr Happy Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 I think about 6/7 players at the club currently could play in the premiership. I make it 5: Clemence Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuume Fulop N'Gotty (providing he can keep up with the pace) and possibly Weso P.S. maybe 6 with Kishishev added
Daggers Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 I make it 5:P.S. maybe 6 with Kishishev added Are all kids these days on hard drugs?
Trumpet Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 I make it 5:Clemence Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuume Fulop N'Gotty (providing he can keep up with the pace) and possibly Weso P.S. maybe 6 with Kishishev added Are these assumptions based on today? Or infact any performances this year? Surely a team with 5/6 premiership players playing in it, wouldn't be 4th from bottom in Division 1.
filbertway Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 The only player out of our team that could play in the prem is surely Fulop? Maybe chambers and clem?
TheBlinding Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 The only player out of our team that could play in the prem is surely Fulop? Maybe chambers and clem? Agreed, but Chambers at right back and not central midfield
BedsFox Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Fulop Clemence would be a squad player Hume isn't going to be a goalscorer at Prem level Rest nowhere near good enough I take that back, add a fit Weso as good enough for the Prem for me
Mark Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 The only player out of our team that could play in the prem is surely Fulop? Maybe chambers and clem? In their prime but not anymore, but I'm just going by Watford (a side relegated) who loaned him out last season, and Clemence was sold as Steve Bruce couldn't guarantee him a place in the team after promotion. From what I've seen I'd only say Fulop but he isn't ours. Of our good players, Hume isn't consistant enough, Kisnorbo is still prone to the odd shocker, and Weso is too injury prone he'll never cope with the pace of the Premiership week in week out.
Mikey Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Yeah ! Why play Chambers at CM when he is a RB. And Hume was our top scorer last year and probably our most effective, so why change his position?
Eastern Fox Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 We really don't need to be thinking about promotion/the Premiership, at the moment we can't beat bad teams at home (QPR) in this division and what I've heard the performance today was shocking. Major changes clearly need to be made to even finish in the top half of this division-I think they should begin by removing Megson if performances do not dramatically improve in 4 or 5 games. I think these results are more down to his tactics/team selection/motivation than the squad fundamentally lacking in quality, which is what he's suggested. He's isn't playing the squad to it's strengths, leaving out attacking players and making very negative/defensive substitutions and tactics.
FleckneyFox Posted 22 September 2007 Author Posted 22 September 2007 The players i was talking about were: Fulop Chambers Kisnorbo Clemence Wesolowski Campbell Hume (possibly Kaebi + Ferreira but yet to show what they can do)
Stuliasz Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Anyone can 'play' in the Premiership, in terms of players who we have who could sustain a position in a top 17 club, I would seriously only say Fulop and Clemence. Weso, Hume etc. are decent enough players and would impress, but if these were the backbone of our side in the Prem, we would get comfortably relegated.
Trumpet Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 After a performance like today, I can't actually believe we are discussing which of our players can hack it in the premier league
Trumpet Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Which can hack it in League Division One? And what league's that? League one, Championship? If we're talking about championship, we're currently sitting fourth from bottom - I'd say none.
BedsFox Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 And what league's that? League one, Championship? If we're talking about championship, we're currently sitting fourth from bottom - I'd say none. quite, whichever we are talking about
macky Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! Premiership quality players?????? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! You're all completely ****ing insane. But thanks though, you've really cheered me up after todays debacle. That's the funniest shit I've read in weeks.
FleckneyFox Posted 22 September 2007 Author Posted 22 September 2007 Those players playing at their best under a good manager COULD cut it in the prem a couple of them have done before
hebangsthedrums Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Those players playing at their best under a good manager COULD cut it in the prem a couple of them have done before Give it up before the men in white coats find you
Geo V Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 Forget the Premiership, we cant even get wins in the Championship at the moment. Its also not about MM giving anyone a shakeup but its down to the manager to help fire these individuals into some sort of mental shape where by they can earn some results in an average division. I dont understand all this talk of them not being fit either. Under MA we finished stronger than most sides creating chances galore and usually having better 2nd halves than first. We haven't gotten into the winning habit all season and need to get on a roll quickly before we lose sight of the top half of the table.
Hullfox Posted 23 September 2007 Posted 23 September 2007 Andy King, Levi Porter, Alan Sheehan and Little Filbert Foetus are all worthy of the Premiership.
