sdb Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 give him a couple more chances yet imo - lets not forget people were bigging up MDV a month or 2 ago (although maybe that goes against what i'm trying to say)! He looked bright when he came on at Plymouth, a bit of match fitness and a goal and i think he'll be a decent player to have in the squad. Terrible on Sat however.
Geo V Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Some may be right that he needs crosses in the box but to be honest, I dont think in his current shape he is quick enough to keep up and get on the end of crosses and for such a big lump who I thought was good in the air has found himself beaten far too often when the ball is played upto him outside the box. Im not saying he wont come good but he needs to play reserve team football to get match sharpness and hopefully a goal or three so he can get some confidence because he looks woeful at the moment.
The Bear Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 I said when you signed him he always needs a run of games to get match sharp, in which time he is mostly a donkey and prefers to back into defenders to win headers rather than jump. When he's on song, he's a very good intelligent player though. I always thought Fryatt/Hume were your best pairing, especially when you beat us 1-0 season before last.

Joe. Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 Well done Carl Cort I say tonight. Although he didn't get a lot of time on the pitch he put himself about well and looked decent. Lets just hope he can keep it up. I'm not holding my breath though...

filbertway Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 From what people we're saying I thought Cort was overweight or something, fook me, he's about as skinny as stearman.
The Bear Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 Thought he did well tonight. Looks nearly at the level where you will get a decent performance out of him most games now.
