Anyone going to the England U21's game on Friday?

England should have won this game by a much larger margin, Walcott and Agbonlahorse were making fantastic runs but should shoot more when they get the chance.

Derbyshire got man of the match, fantastic finish after a great ball by Milner, MOM could have gone to Milner also or Taylor at centre back who was quality.

Saw Kisnorbo in the stands, he seemed to be hobbling, not sure if he was just walking strangely or whether he is injured.

That was an odd evening out!

No singing / atmosphere and people talking amongst themselves everywhere like there was'nt even a game game going on.

Good to see a lot of youngsters there though, hopefully they will all come back and support the foxes!

As for the football, England should have polished them off in the first half with at least 2 goals.

Second half Montenegro came into it a bit more, and many of the england players looked like they were only giving 50%, which shocked me a little considering Pearce is the coach.

1-0 Last time I checked.

Looked like a decent sized, happy clapping crowd.

Mate, you'd of loved it. Classic chants ringing out throughout the ground. Non stop singing. Plenty of steward mockage. FC United fans were near us. Not forgetting the whole Kop standing.

Air horns and blow horns should be banned from kids, seriously for the entire game there was just 'DUN DUN, DUN DUN DUN, DUN DUN DUN DUN, ENGLAND!' and it was pissing me off no end. Usually I wouldn't mind but for 90 minutes straight, plus the half time break, there were horns going off in ever direction. It was a shit game and I was glad to get out of there by the end. Purely because my head was banging like a bitch. It probably wasn't that bad but I appreciate Leicester's quiet fans a lot more now :P

Yeah this is very true.

On the plus side, the stewards were fine, didn't even tell us to sit down although they told us to stop banging on the back.

This steward was also a God because he disliked Kevin Barclay.

****MOAN STARTS****

Last night was the weirdest game atmosphere I have ever experienced (and yes I used to go the FNF nights at Filbert Street). Kids weren't interested in the game, only in how loud they could blow their horns.

I am a firm believer that the Mexican wave only has a place in football when we're winning 5-0, last night the wave went round, and round, and round even when there appeared to be some decent action. Grrrrrrrr. No end of adults in the area I was sitting left the game just after the 65 min break "moaning" bout the lack of atmosphere and those bloody horns.

****MOAN ENDS******

To be fair, the football was poor and their wouldn't have been an atmosphere if it wasn't for the air horns. At least I know never to go to an U21 game ever again. >_> I'd have rather gone and watched Leicester, at least I'd have enjoyed the noise a bit more, I didn't feel like cheering for England's U21's, they didn't feel like 'my team' the way supporting Leicester/England do. Ah well.

I have to say it was a good attendance though. 20,000+ for an England U21 game isn't bad and I bet they don't get that anywhere else. And dandan, the noise was the same throughout, purely because of the kids in the stadium as I've said. Never again, when I went to Brazil/Jamaca a few years back they had air horns and that was the best atmosphere I've ever been involved with. It was mental. That's how it should be done, people was playing songs with their air horns rather than the same thing all game.

Fair play mate, I can't stand the Under 21's waste of time. They are good for families to go to though because you know there wont be any troubke there.

I'll think again about U21's. I actually thought it was a waste of space. Good to see young prem stars playing, but i got bored.

Were some of you expecting an amazing atmosphere or something?! it's the Under 21's for gawds sake. You tend to go to the Under 21's if you wish to watch football!

That Montenegro side were abismal too. They can't cross the ball, they can't pass the ball, they can't shoot, they roll around on the floor when they get tackled. How it was only 1-0 I'll never know.

the atmosphere was rubbish and the air horns got really annoying. the first half was good but the second half was poor.

I wish that was the case.

I did go to watch the football. With so many young Premier League starlets on show that was my only reason for going, but what with the horns, the endless chatting, the people up/down up/down going for a piss.. pie... bored etc it was hard work trying to concentrate on the game, which as others have said was not the most exiting game in the World anyway.

In then end for the money you could'nt complain really, and I came away feeling that I had seen at least 2 England senior teams players of the future. Agbonlahor is a very very bright and lively striker, and Theo Walcott was a entire class above anyone else on the pitch.

Matt Derbyshire is a bright enough prospect to boot.

Accoring to Matt Derbyshire they smelt like booze.

It was the West Stand, ffs. People were behaving as though it was a bleedin' circus.

The steward ownage in the first half was about the best part of the game, in all honesty. Why I chose to go to watch that game live I'll never know.

Also, was VERY disappointed not to have met AOWW. Being stood up is an awful feeling.

I was waiting for you to make the arrangements... where to meet, when... and so on. I figured you weren't interested. :(

So you guys didn't hit up Zanzibar and KFC after all?

That's... just... tooooo bad... I guess. :ermm:

:D

Get it right!

I did attempt to make the arrangements. I intended to meet you at the club shop after the game in order to head back into town with you. I think there was some sneaky moderating done by somebody (not mentioning any names **lookydo** ) which meant you didn't see the details. And there was me being led to believe you were actually being allowed out to play as well.:(

As Ched said, it was Maryland Chicken. Get your facts right.

I blame you for the whole thing going wrong, anyway. You had it in for me right from the start, you did. Deleting my post stating that I wished to meet the lady after the game at the club shop (an easy meeting point for both parties) was not fair. You ruined what could have been a good night. I hope you're happy with yourself. :@

Did any of the older members of this forum ever watch any of the England schoolboy games at the old Filbo? I went to one in the 80s but that was because a mate played for England when we beat the Scots. He only ran 70 yards passed 6 or 7 players to score!
