the_bowman Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Anyone here actually follow them? Do you think Gilly will start tomorrow? Should Stride be playing? Chat about good old Cloughie? When's Poole finally gonna lay down the gloves and retire? And WHO is responsible for the catering. Pleurgh. Don't ask... just felt like starting a thread for some reason...

He deserves a starting place. Stride shouldn't. Hes has been off form. In actual fact. I'M NOT BOTHERED
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 October 2007 Posted 13 October 2007 Burton is actually the nearest proffesional club to those living In Ashby so I don't see why they shouldn't be entitled to their own thread seeing as Quorn and Coalville are, especially considering that they are actually half decent and pushing for a place in the football league.
Floating Fox Posted 13 October 2007 Posted 13 October 2007 Always had a soft spot for them. I'm gonna get down to a game at some point this year.
the_bowman Posted 13 October 2007 Author Posted 13 October 2007 I've got a season ticket. And yes, Gilly did start and played well, Stride was impeccable Poole is still as great as ever and made some good saves and the catering is still crap. Beat top of the league Aldershot 2-0 puts us up to third

Pleurgh.Don't ask... just felt like starting a thread for some reason... as in Kevin Poole the Goalkeeper who dropped his player of the year trophy, breaking it?
the_bowman Posted 13 October 2007 Author Posted 13 October 2007 as in Kevin Poole the Goalkeeper who dropped his player of the year trophy, breaking it? I hadn't actually heard of that... but yes Kevin Poole of Aston Villa, Middlesborough, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers and Derby County renown
Floating Fox Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Great game on Setanta now vs Stevanage. Cracking atmosphere Kevin Poole has kept 7 Clean sheets in a row  Score atm 3 v 3

the_bowman Posted 20 October 2007 Author Posted 20 October 2007 Thinking about going myself. Never been to their new stadium, nice to stand on a terrace too. Yeah it's a great stadium, and the pitch is great. The only drawback is the catering though

David O'Leary Posted 25 November 2007 Posted 25 November 2007 The only good thing I can say as I have never seen you play is that you have terraces
the_bowman Posted 3 December 2007 Author Posted 3 December 2007 The only good thing I can say as I have never seen you play is that you have terraces I DOn't think there are any non-league teams that are all sitting Exeter have some great terracing, proper stuff not like our poor attempt
Staf Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 as in Kevin Poole the Goalkeeper who dropped his player of the year trophy, breaking it? I laugh everytime i see or hear that
Floating Fox Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 I laugh everytime i see or hear that He played on saturday at the game I went (1-1 with Barnet) and I was in the away end. He got sooo much stick when he got challenged and stayed down (Caused 7 mins of injury time). He was right next to us as well, dead funny Still pretty agile for someone half the age of Thracian.
the_bowman Posted 3 December 2007 Author Posted 3 December 2007 He really is still pretty sharp considering his age, and isn't afraid to get a bit physical. Without him, we'd be mid to low table.
