Finchy Posted 13 October 2007 Posted 13 October 2007 I've just been on a trip to Falmouth, anyone who knows where that is knows how bloody far it is. But anyway i wasn't in control of the sounds so we listened to Radio one all the way there and back. Jeeeeeeeez WHY DO THEY INSIST ON REPEATING SONGS SO IT GETS TO THE POINT OF WHEN YOU HEAR THEM YOU WANT TO POP YOUR EAR DRUMS! They must have played Lets dance to Joy Division by The Womtwats 100 times! and don't even get me started on Scouting For Gays! Mind you i really want to kiss a man who was fishing in Norwich for ringing up and requesting Waterfall by The Roses, i nearly cried in happiness when they played it! rant over.

Finchy Posted 13 October 2007 Author Posted 13 October 2007 Why didn't you change the station? i wasn't in control of the radio! believe me if i was i would have.
NFFC Chris Posted 13 October 2007 Posted 13 October 2007 My commiserations, radio one is awful,to be honest Virgin Radio and possibly Kerrang are the only stations worth listening.I had to put up with the same awful music everyday at an old workplacement, which basically just alternated from Robbie Williams and The Scissor Sisters all day with Madonna sandwiched in between:angry:
Lillehamring Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 radio 1 hasnæt ever been any good during the daytime - even when simon mayo was in his prime, in fact most radio stations are total crap these days cause they have to play what is released, it's not radio 1's fault that the wombats are crap (mcfly for 20 somethings?), blame the bloody NME and lazy A&R men for that. the only station i listen to in leicester is Saga (or whatever it's called now) and capitol gold in london, but that's why god gave us iPods... i feel soory for you, when i worked in a bank we had to listen to leicester sound or something, and we used to get 'Louise' 6 times a day, no wonder i git depressed...

Lillehamring Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 Ooooooooh! some members of this forum will not appreciate that!! yeah, i know + i thought they looked cool on Jon Dahl's sig, and downloaded their album, but i saw the 'joy division' single and i was embarassed, it was so 1996, and to 'clever; for it's own good... i genuinely wanted to like them, sorry guys... ...i'm right on this one!
Finchy Posted 14 October 2007 Author Posted 14 October 2007 i'll happily say the Wombats are shocking, in my opinion they're just another scott mills listener friendly, un-original, girly pop, sh*te band. But at the end of the day what music you listen to is up to you and if it makes you happy then thats perfect.
filbertway Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Scott mill's surely one of the best radio DJ/presenters in the country?
Joe. Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Scott mill's surely one of the best radio DJ/presenters in the country? I'd go as far to say the best from who I've heard

Geo V Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 I hardly listen to the radio but if I was it wouldnt be Radio 1 as its full of twonks. Dont tell Craigy Adams 23 that I don't listen to the radio though or I`ll be smack bang in trouble.

I'm older than you and people rip the p1ss out of me for listening to Radio 2.
The Stig Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Radio 1 do overplay songs, which therefore makes you find them annoying,
filbertway Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Radio 1 do overplay songs, which therefore makes you find them annoying, We have our very own radio 1 on these boards, goes by the name thracian
Lillehamring Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 I'm older than you and people rip the p1ss out of me for listening to Radio 2. nah, don't listen to them, radio 2 is (or used to be) a pretty good staton, didn't they used to have jonathan ross, brilliant... but saga plays some great stuff, and it's really sedate for the oldies, and they have great adverts for people about to die and stuff...

Being a Sales Engineer, I listen to lots of radio on the way to customers etc. I tend to listen to Moyles as he is fook funny - then I listen to Jo Whiley as she has some good features. I change when Edith Bowman comes on as I find her show rather dull. I tend to listen to Radio 2 then until Mills (or more recently Sara Cox) is on. I think Mills will eventually take over from Moyles on the Brekky show - I think he is soooo childish its funny.... (Other radio stations are available)
Nationwider Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Mark Radcliffe is my favourite wireless disc jockey, so Radio 1 died for me when he and Lardy Boy left. Radio 2 and 6 Music for me these days. Radcliffe, Maconie, Ross and (sharp intake of breath) Wogan are all great on Radio 2. I'm old.

Finchy Posted 18 October 2007 Author Posted 18 October 2007 i only listen to the radio out of choice when Russell Brand is on Radio 2, usually get the podcast tho, but that is hilarious. If i want music i download it, i don't use the radio for that.
