Phube Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Apart from having to put up with Barber that is! I will be 'watching' my first game since Blackpool today, and I've just realised I have no idea what most of players look like (or even their numbers) It'll be a very strange experience for me to have the commentator tell me who is on the ball, before I realise... I used to be able to tell who was on the ball just by their body movements.... But hopefully I'll have their faces (and numbers) down before I go to the Barnsley game!!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Yeah i be the same phube but can't wait to watch it may get to see 3 games this year i hope the boys do the business. I actually wish i could win lotto and spend 6 months in leicester and try and go to every game for one whole season that is my aim down the track
MPH Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Hardcore fan then? maybe he doesnt live locally.. work is taking him away I personally cant go to every home game and every away game because i cant afford to. im in debt. does that make me a non-hardcore fan?
Milky Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 maybe he doesnt live locally.. work is taking him awayI personally cant go to every home game and every away game because i cant afford to. im in debt. does that make me a non-hardcore fan? I'm on about not knowing what the players look like!
Raj Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 I'm on about not knowing what the players look like! I've got a St and I dont even know what half the players look like. So you reckon you could idntify ALL 40 of our players eh MJ???
MPH Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 I'm on about not knowing what the players look like! well you can memorize a face all day long from photos, but when someone is belting up the wing and you dont have a very good seat as well as not having seen them regularly i guess it can be quite hard! unlike barber, however, i can tell the difference between Cort and Mattock...
Milky Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 I've got a St and I dont even know what half the players look like.So you reckon you could idntify ALL 40 of our players eh MJ??? Yes, absolutely. I thought surely most people could, but obviously not! ..as an aside i could name most of the academy lads aswell.
Dames Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 well you can memorize a face all day long from photos, but when someone is belting up the wing and you dont have a very good seat as well as not having seen them regularly i guess it can be quite hard!unlike barber, however, i can tell the difference between Cort and Mattock... I don't blame the bloke the differance between them is really minimal.
Geo V Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 I get what people are saying. Had it not been for the internet and the OS I think I wouldnt know what half of them look like as you dont get the best view of their faces from within the stands!
Phube Posted 20 October 2007 Author Posted 20 October 2007 Hardcore fan then? I have never done 'Away', but I've missed about 4 home games in 5 years... but since the wedding (and more pertinently; the Honeymoon) I'm far too poor to go as often as I'd like!! And as Soccerroo says you can look a picture all day long it doesn't help identify them at the other end of the pitch/TV!! As I said above I could tell who was on the ball (when we had a sttled squad) just by watching them run... but now... No idea!!! But I do think I could pick out Cort from Mattock though!!
Hullfox Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Yes, absolutely. I thought surely most people could, but obviously not! ..as an aside i could name most of the academy lads aswell. And I'm sure most of the engines from the Island of Sodor too.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Yes, absolutely. I thought surely most people could, but obviously not! ..as an aside i could name most of the academy lads aswell. Whats your email adress i will email you your certificate
Raj Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Yes, absolutely. I thought surely most people could, but obviously not! ..as an aside i could name most of the academy lads aswell. Oooohhh Look at me! So special! OOoohhhhh! Im SO clever!!! PPPPPffffffftttttttt!
Milky Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Oooohhh Look at me!So special! OOoohhhhh! Im SO clever!!! PPPPPffffffftttttttt! You can't expect people to know the academy lads. My bro is part of it that's why i know. The first team though? Come on, surely it's not too much effort to know them!

Come on, surely it's not too much effort to know them! Its true. Its easy! I think our back up striker Elvis Douglas and that Scottish keeper Rab Hammond are my favourites.

Come on, surely it's not too much effort to know them! What all 40 of the bastards!!! I struggle with my own fcuking name some mornings!!!!
Milky Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 [/b]What all 40 of the bastards!!! I struggle with my own fcuking name some morning!!!! It's not hard to remember 40 fooking people!
Raj Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 It's not hard to remember 40 fooking people! To be serious (for a change!) i think it is the lack of affiliation we fans have at the moment with our players. Ok so most maybe able to name the firts team and subs but due to the rest either not playing and not being involved most dont know them from Jack.
