Leicester City's under 18 side got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory at Birmingham City on Saturday.

The young Foxes had gone into the game on the back of a 5-3 home defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

But first half goals from Billy Kee and Ashley Chambers allowed City to register their sixth victory from the nine games they have played to date for the campaign.

Academy Manager Jon Rudkin said: "The lads put in a very good performance during the first half, but we should have further capitalised on the chances that we created. The game then became a bit scrappy in the second half.

"Ryan Beswick was rushed to hospital in the first half as we feared that he had broken his leg, but thankfully he has just suffered very heavy bruising."

City: Pentney, Cox, Garner, Turner, Cobb, C King (John-Joe), Howard, Burns, Beswick (McKay), Kee, Chambers.

Chamebrs really is on fire again.

I saw him at Quorn preseason, very impressed. I think he'll be the next to break through to the first team.

It's great to see. I was really worried those injuries might have spoilt his chance of making a name for himself here, what with the likes of Odhiambo and McKay filling the limelight from our Academy. But this season he know's he has the chance to score a lot of goals in the Academy and work his way through to the first team.

He has what none of our other young strikers have and that's blistering pace in the Theo Walcott mould.

He can make his own luck unlike the other "strikers" we have.:unsure:

He certaionly has something about him. His pace is frightening. I wonder who's quicker out of him or Kaebi?! Both are rumoured to be able to do the 100 metres in less than 11 seconds.

Chambers isn't just quick, he's hard to knock off the ball when he's running with it too. You get some players that are rapid but their ball control isn't the best but Chambers seems to be able to marry the two together successfully. Just hope he has an injury-free season because it'd be sad to see him out again.
