I've got £100 riding on Bolton going down since the beginning of this season!! :D

Quote from Bolton fan on that voting site:

A dark day in the history of Bolton Wanderers Football Club. I think I'm going to wear black to the Braga game. :-(

I'm pretty convinced that Megson had no intention of leaving until the Kop started shouting 'Megson for Bolton' last night- well if thats all the balls he's got then good riddance.

He won't be missed.

I think you've been suckered in. He's mentioned it in the press on purpose. He always wanted to talk to Bolton. About ten minutes before people started singing it, I mentioned it to Hols, Matt and Alex but decided that we'd probably get shouted down and accused of negativity. Ah well.

I haven't read much of the stuff he's said in the press Fez tbh, the most I've got in the last 48 hours has been through having very quick looks on here when I've had the chance.

In any case I think Milan's done the right thing. If Megson wants to be an ungrateful bastard to the man that helped bring him back into football then so be it he deserves to go. I just hope the replacement's decent.

The Kop singing gave him the perfect excuse. It's like playing into his hands. I wish it hadn't happened purely for that reason.

fook me, what brilliant news to wake up to.

Just after watching Celtic concede a 90th minute goal to Portugese twats.

I just want some fooking stability to tell you the truth.

If he's gonna lose games like Sheff Utd and then walk out on the club, I believe he can go and get fooked. :)

I want Chris Coleman.

As far as I can remember i tried to get this song going but nobody joined in. I think this only helped get rid of the ginger t**T. as for playing in to his hands i dont think so people have more intellegence than to believe him. He wont last long at Bolton and they are a small club anyway and its time they went down sick of everyone saying how well there doing hope they keep falling through the leagues till they find there level.

I don't really have anything against Megson. Take a step back and put yourself in his position.

- A Premiership club has made an approach for him.

- They'll pay him more.

- They're in Europe.

- They've got some good players with an equally good chance of staying up.

He has no emotional attachment to Leicester - he's a manager who has been at a number of clubs. If he gets a better offer, why not? Some people will bang on about MM giving him a chance and then showing a lack of loyalty - so what? He doesn't owe us anything apart from a thank you.

I'm sure given time Megson would have probably got us promoted - but not this season. With the style of pragmatic football he adopted, albeit largely down to the players available at his disposal, supporters probably wouldn't have tolerated him beyond 12 months.

However, I believe he's not the sort of progressive manager to take us forward should we ever get back in the Premiership, and therefore I'm indifferent to him leaving.

His position was that of a failed manager who was unable to obtain a full-time contract and had taken to touting himself on a free basis in order to fill his days.

MM offered him his first position after 18 months of unemployment.

That, and his miserable approach to the game, is what I have against Megson.

For whatever anyone cares to sling at Mandaric - he deserved better from Megson than that. Irrespective of whatever tasty offer you had managed your agent to conspire in his "non-influencial" influencial role as football advisor to Notlob, as a thank you to the person who gave you the opportunity to prove yourself in the world of football your response...Megson's response...should have been to say 'thank you but no thank you, I have a job to do'.

I came to the position of not wanting Meggers to stay; he stopped us conceeding, and that was good. He stopped us playing football - and that was bad. Most of all he stopped the squad believing in themselves and that is unforgivable.

Ultimately, Megson proved himself to be a man without positive direction, a man without an understanding of the fan-base and a man without honour.

I agree completely. We seem to be a minority of two but I don't think it's worth the hassle getting worked up about Megson.

Can I disagree with you on that?

Make that three. I posted something on another thread a few days ago, and someone tried to throw it back in my face.

from the unveiling of the manager....in his own words

.........................Amazingly, Megson's quip on his arrival following Martin Allen's short time at the helm that “it is a long-term contract, six weeks†proved accurate to the day.

And so might Mandaric's closing remark at that press conference “see you all in seven weeksâ€, which would mean the new man in charge the day after the glamour Carling Cup tie at Chelsea on Wednesday.

Just a thought and |I may well be completely wrong, but I thought that Ginger Tosser had not yet signed a contract for us.... if this is so then why would Bolton have to pay any compensation at all

Posted

Employee/employer rights. If megson knows about his contract(which he did) and is being paid in accordance with his contract then he is legally bound to it even though he hasn't signed it.

i read £300k in the Guardian which seems a decent amount! usually reliable too

edit - sorry i didnt even read the post - just the title! i was suprised we were getting any comp too

Oh my god... Supporter Chairman quote

"Micky Adams would be a good choice. He ran out of steam towards the end of his time here but is a proven Championship manager."

Yeah, great idea.... Lets give Nobby No clue another go, I mean afterall.... We are too good to go down afterall..
