kev_lcfc4life Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 But Kaebi has been playing out of position all along. The Iranians say he's best as a Right Attacking Mid and so far he's played Right back and Left back. And was you not saying he was looking dangerous before that one bad game he had and ended up getting injured. I think your the one in need of more patience before you start getting on his back. rightly said
Thracian Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 rightly said But it's not rightly said is it? None of it really. 1) No-one knows his best position and City are following standard practise by playing him in various positions a) to see where he's best and b) to familiarise him with the various requirements. They do it with lots of fringe players - Sheehan and Stearman played centre-half, Porter central midfield and on the wing, Odhiambo centre-forward and on the wing, Beswick left back, left wing and even midfield. 2) What the Iranians think is right for their style of football - played in hot conditions - is not necessarily appropriate to the fast-paced English football at all. And, while he's been mostly selected at full-back when I've been watching he has ventured into midfield where he's done good things but at other times been found wanting. I particularly remember the game against Stoke Reserves when he totally bungled a couple of tackles, almost giving a goal away when trying to recover from one burst forward and sliding into a midfield effort but missing by fully two yards puttin himself right out of the game because he was still sliding along the floor with the ball long gone. 3) He's not had one bad game. He's had just one good game. Why the pretence? Give the bloke time or do you actually want him to embarrass himself or the team?
Tevez Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 The thing is, this is a football club that the likes of Chris O Grady, Conrad Logan, Jacob Laursen, John Curtis, Chris Makin, Josh Low and Elvis bleedin' Hammond have turned out for the in the past. All I want is for Ka'ebi to have a go. Can he be any worse than that bunch of wasters. Post of the year.
Thracian Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Post of the year. And Dobbin would be Horse of the Year I presume. He's had lots of "goes" or do you seriously think he'll play better for the first team than the reserves? Imagine I said that about Beswick, McKay, Ashley Chambers or Odhiambo. You'd think I was having a laugh.
Ashley Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 I would like to see him play, however i doubt he will.
Cat Burger Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 I just don't see how he would be as crap as Stearman, that waste of space doesn't actually do ANYTHING!
BigGibbo Posted 9 November 2007 Posted 9 November 2007 i think we need to swap the kop and family stand Got my vote
Thracian Posted 9 November 2007 Posted 9 November 2007 I just don't see how he would be as crap as Stearman, that waste of space doesn't actually do ANYTHING! I do sympathise with what you're saying. But as far as I can see Chambers is the alternative at right-back and I'm almost 100% sure there'd be no contest. Three managers have all taken the same line about Kaebi and, irrespective of the evidence of my own eyes, that's pretty convincing. It remains to be seen if he's a better prospect at right midfield. But I'd find out first before risking him in the first team. For now though I wish YouTube had a couple of reserve team films of Kaebi cos it might put a different complexion on the current impression. I don't mean just highlights either. Anyone can make a player look good or bad on edited film as YouTube has already demonstrated with the guy in question. No, they could show the full match. It would paint the true picture and people really could make their minds up based on some evidence. Some would still choose him whatever, that's clear from their posts. But it's my belief the general clamour would quieten significantly - though I am still reminded of the demand for Nielsen's inclusion so anything's possible.
lookwhaticando Posted 9 November 2007 Posted 9 November 2007 One day someone will get pi out of 10, I swear. I'm pretty sure I've seen a 6.94 or something before... that was rather precise.
Jay Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 I guess not then!! time to close this thread ready for the next one!!
