simonthefox Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 I'd like to make it clear that I have nothing personally against Gerry or Frank "The Tash" Burrows (who I'm pretty sure makes most of the decisions that don't involve bollocking the players from the side of the pitch), but they're just not good enough They're not managers, especially at Championship level, they're assistant managers and coaches respectively I'm sure Gerry Gerry is brilliant at motivating the players And I'm sure Mr Burrows is brilliant at looking like the most un-football related person you'll ever meet (a flatcap for Pete's sake! may as well bring a whippet with him into the dugout) But for a big club like us, who deserve to be in the Premiership, with a fantastic chairman and some quality players (they're just shy and don't like to show it sometimes), they're just not good enough They've done reasonably well in the absence of a proper boss, but caretakers should only be allowed a few games at maximum - case in point, Rob Kelly Congrats on the Chelsea game, and the (somewhat sparse) points you've got us, but this is your stop Taggsy and Burrows-y We need a manager. Desperately. And before you lot bloody say it: No. Steve Walsh isn't the answer. Not by a long bloody shot.
potter3 Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 But for a big club like us, who deserve to be in the Premiership I don't see how that works.
simonthefox Posted 10 November 2007 Author Posted 10 November 2007 I don't see how that works. that's what Milan said anyway......
Dames Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 But for a big club like us, who deserve to be in the Premiership, with a fantastic chairman and some quality players (they're just shy and don't like to show it sometimes), they're just not good enough Very debateable. Also a tad deluded.
simonthefox Posted 10 November 2007 Author Posted 10 November 2007 Very debateable. Also a tad deluded. Which bit? Milan's not a good chairman? We have no half decent players at all? We're a tiny club?
Dames Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 Which bit?Milan's not a good chairman? We have no half decent players at all? We're a tiny club? The jurys still out on Milan, he got really lucky with Harry (Yes it is Harry because look where they are now and Milans been gone for 2 years and there alot better off) Most of our squad is the same as last year which isn't good enough, to many lazy time wasters, some quality but rarely shown. Were not big, never was big were just an average club with a decent stadium (Thats the carbon copy of about 5 others around the country).

Harry Redknapp is a great manager, never gonna deny that, but he needed Milan's money and backing (forget the whole Director of Football malarkey) "Some quality but rarely shown" - exactly what I said Big as in compared to some of the other clubs in our division I'm gonna defend my comments to the death!!!
Floating Fox Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 that's what Milan said anyway...... Milan said your a fooking twat.

I'm not slating you personally. Its just some fans need to drop the 'were a big club we deserve to be in the premiership' mentality. You only deserve to be in the Premiership if you have a team thats willing to give 100% and that goes out and gets a result no matter the weather time place or situation. We currently do not have a team like that.

simonthefox Posted 10 November 2007 Author Posted 10 November 2007 Milan said your a fooking twat. takes one to know one *sticks tongue out* Nur nur nu nur nur
Rich Fox Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 Which bit?Milan's not a good chairman? We have no half decent players at all? We're a tiny club? We are not a tiny club when we are getting 24 000 fans at the arse end of this shitty league only some tiny minded fans like you. There i no effort from our players and no system we are a mess. It has happened for years we say a player is crap then they go somewhere else and look loads better. As for saying milan is a bad chairman go down to pompey and say hes crap they would probably kick your arse all the way back to Leicester.
Rich Fox Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 The jurys still out on Milan, he got really lucky with Harry (Yes it is Harry because look where they are now and Milans been gone for 2 years and there alot better off)Most of our squad is the same as last year which isn't good enough, to many lazy time wasters, some quality but rarely shown. Were not big, never was big were just an average club with a decent stadium (Thats the carbon copy of about 5 others around the country). Cant believe how many brain dead fans we have. Milan did a great at pompey and one of the best thingd he did for them was to sell it to new owners who have pumped millians into it. The way you tell if a club is big is how many turn out to watch crap like today. I suppose you think Bolton are bigger when they get 15 000 in the prem
Ultra Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 But for a big club like us, who deserve to be in the Premiership, with a fantastic chairman and some quality players (they're just shy and don't like to show it sometimes), they're just not good enough This "fantastic" chairman has been so outstanding that we have picked up a mighty TWENTY-FIVE points from his 26 games in charge. In a league as poor as this, that record is unforgivable. It really is time people woke up and smelled the coffee. Mandaric is a charlatan whose inadequacies are there for all to see, now that he doesn't have Harry Redknapp around him to make him look good. Our chairman may have spent a few quid, but in reality he knows no more about running this football club than those who went before him.

What arsehole in the world could not preside over that sort of record? Or pick caretaker managers who, given their greatest chance on earth should settle on a 5-4-1 system at home. I really am beside myself. I have tried and tried to think of extenuating circumstances that might justify such a pathetic approach to a home football match and can think of nothing at all. I curse the moment I even contemplated persevering with those two. I honestly thought they might have something about them and wanted to give them a chance. On reflection it's obvious I'm getting soft and I apologise. It won't happen again I assure you.
Ultra Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Wasn't it 5-4-1? Even Rob Kelly never sank as low as that!
Thracian Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Wasn't it 5-4-1?Even Rob Kelly never sank as low as that! It was indeed - a reflection of the depths of my depression.

Flynny Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 It wasn't 5-4-1, it was 5-3-2 with Fryatt in midfield.
Chromophobia Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 No team deserves to be in the premiership for a kick off. and we've got a chairman who's pretty inept at running a football club who also isn't prepared to spend good money on players or managers.
Thracian Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 It wasn't 5-4-1, it was 5-3-2 with Fryatt in midfield. It looked very 5-4-1-ish to me for much of the time. In fact I saw so little of Campbell it almost seemed like 5-3-1.
Koke Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 I thought at the beginning he was a bit lively, but as the match went on DJ drifted out of the game more and more. To me it looked like 5-3-2 with Matty Fryatt in midfield.
Daz.I Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 I have to agree get taggart out and no steve walsh yes he might have passion but I have doesn't mean I should be manager does it ? get some-one in with a respectable record but if I'm being deadly honest I can't see us getting a stable manager until the start of next season when good managers declare themself free. get taggart and burrows out soon as possible and get some-one!
