DB11 Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Ok... ignore me, don't believe it or whatever you want to do. I don't care cos I'm not a Ricky Sappleton lover like some people on here Anyway, he's not happy at Leicester <_< I know this because the physio said to him how long is he at Leicester for and he said "3 years... 2 and a half years too much" I guess he thought he'd be playing first team football for Leicester and not academy football because Liverpool and Boro academies wanted him to.
Nath Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 And how do you know the physio asked him this? Because the physio has nothing to do with it.

So he'd rather sit in the Liverpool academy? More than likely having an even smaller chance of doing something with his career.
Joe. Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 You know what? Big Ricky's a god. He made the squad at Colchester y'know.
DB11 Posted 14 November 2007 Author Posted 14 November 2007 And how do you know the physio asked him this?Because the physio has nothing to do with it. Because my brother was in the physio's room at the same time and told me
Milky Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 I sit near him and the other academy lads at games, and i do get the impression he's a bit of an outsider. I thought this was probably just my imagination, but perhaps he really isn't happy afterall
Joe. Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 The Sappleton Anthem Na na na na na na na na na na na, Ricky Sappleton, Sappleton, Ricky Sappleton...
Matt Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Sounds like most of our players...surprised he doesn't fit in here. Big-headed? Thinks he's better than he is? (If this is true that he isn't happy in the reserves - Thinks he should be playing first team)

Dames Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 He's a young lad settling down in an unfamiliar place with barely any friends. Of course he's going to hate it at first.
Floating Fox Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Because my brother was in the physio's room at the same time and told me Yeah well my dads brother dogs left testicle was in the room next door and he heard him say something else.
DB11 Posted 14 November 2007 Author Posted 14 November 2007 Yeah well my dads brother dogs left testicle was in the room next door and he heard him say something else. Why don't you believe me My brother plays for the academy and was receiving treatment
Thracian Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 I sit near him and the other academy lads at games, and i do get the impression he's a bit of an outsider. I thought this was probably just my imagination, but perhaps he really isn't happy afterall Not sure he had the reputation of being happy before he came here. But, again, people forget he's a youngster. And like plenty of others his opinion of his own talents might be higher than the reality. We've all been there and if prospective footballers don't believe in their own ability they're not likely to make the grade. It's a fine balance between believing you're good and making problems for yourself. Sappleton might not know it but he looks a better player now than when he arrived. Someone is doing some good for him. His control is improving, his vision is improving, his awareness and teamplay are better and he is gradually getting some consistency. But he's not first team standard yet and he shouldn't resent people recognising that fact. He still needs a much better first touch. He still needs to be sharper. And he still needs to be more adept at holding people off and linking the play. That's not about strength, I'm sure, it's about technique. If it is not the case already he should make his mind up to get his head down, to listen closely and to learn every hour of every day. He can probably make a decent professional but he can as easily go the other way and how quickly he matures mentally will probably decide. The first step is admitting there ARE things he needs to improve and then having the strength of character to do the work necessary. First team appearances will look after themselves but opportunities will doubtless come faster if he shows the right attitude and application.
Simi Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Why don't you believe me My brother plays for the academy and was receiving treatment That what they call it now.
Nath Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Why don't you believe me My brother plays for the academy and was receiving treatment Acadamy and reserve's get physio together?
DB11 Posted 14 November 2007 Author Posted 14 November 2007 Acadamy and reserve's get physio together? I dunno all I know is what my brother told me. His physio is someone called Gav and there is a lot of physios but only one physio room
DB11 Posted 14 November 2007 Author Posted 14 November 2007 I thought the physio was Dave Rennie... He's head physio but not the academy physio
Nath Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 He's head physio but not the academy physio Sappleton doesn't play for the academy either.
davieG Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Sappleton doesn't play for the academy either. He does!
DB11 Posted 14 November 2007 Author Posted 14 November 2007 Sappleton doesn't play for the academy either. Yes he does
Nath Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 He does! The academy is all them kid's He play's for the reserve's
Toby or not Toby Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Wasn't Ray Jones his best mate? He is probably still coming to terms with that
davieG Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 The academy is all them kid'sHe play's for the reserve's See the attached academy match report - pay particular attention to the last paragraph and the team. http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1153341,00.html Then you can post an apology
Staf Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 He is still only young so surely he should wait and see if he gets his chance players like Billy McKee are scoring a lot more goals than him and you dont see him complaining Sappleton should wait and see if he gets a chance in the first team
