Lord Nibblington Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 I heard Brooking wasn't even consulted last time around. *Shrug*
Bryn Posted 7 December 2007 Posted 7 December 2007 YESmen Ahhhhhhhh, THAT'S what that's meant to say.
davieG Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 If Brooking is such an excellent Director of Football Development how come our youngster get some of the worst development in Europe, school playing fields are disappearing, football in now played less than ever at our schools and the National football Academy has been put of hold for so long? If the FA were really interested in anything but money and personal kudos the Academy would be built and up and running and they might even consider ideas like paying for a football coach in every school. What development is he actually getting done?

What development is he actually getting done? I'm sure Brooking would like to do all of those things. He can make recommendations, but because of politics and lack of money to his department, he can't order anything.

As a Director one of his main attributes should be his ability to influence other Directors if he can't do that then he's failing!
purpleronnie Posted 8 December 2007 Posted 8 December 2007 I've heard interviews with TB and he was complaining how the stet up for youth football wasn't good enough and the plan that was put in place ten years ago hasn't happend? Wasnt that his job??????
act smiley Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 The problem with organisations like the FA that aren't very transparent is that its hard to tell which idiot makes a mess of things, and whose fault everything that they always get wrong is, when its so mired in beaurocracy and people skimming off the top. The problem with criticising all these people is that they'll always pass the blame onto some hidden committee somewhere that nobody ever gets told a thing about, and we've no way of knowing if they're telling the truth or not. So in summary, as much as I may dislike Brooking or Barwick or whoever, I think the system being crap is an even bigger problem than one or two idiots.
