Lets face it, this season is over for us.

Lets use this Jan window to rebuild and get rid, get the stability back and let Holloway settle and get the club playing his way. Then buy well in the summer and be a real contender for next season 2008/2009

The season is most certainly not over.

We're right in a relegation battle.

Definitely, this season is a write-off. The only thing we focus on now is getting clear of relegation and looking to shape our squad for mid-table next season.

agree totally on this season, but not mid table next. with the right additions we can really challenge next year. we have 6-7 good players at the club and i think they will be made to look better with the right quality coming in.

We're falling foul of what so many clubs our size fall for. There are so many teams out there now in the CCC spending big money. What chance do we have against the Wolves, WBA, Sheff U's with a chairman like Manderic. His name is sh*t in football.

Even QPR now, I'd be surprised if we finished above them!

Whilst we were having a frenzy of signings, wolves, west brom etc. were using there money wisely and werent rushing in... whilst they were getting a few good players, we were getting rubbish. For every 1 player they brought, we probably had about 4 in comparison, yet at least there player would be playing every week, and to a good standard...

exactly!! What a player that Keogh is. And don't forget, we've already done the debt thing. This time it's serious and if anyone out there thinks the cash spent is the money of MM and not City, then think again. he is not there to "give" us all his money. Between him and Holloway, I dread to think what w'll end up with .....probably Plymouth's reserve team. I was at the game down there this season - I didn't see anyone impress me outside Halmosi and he'll cost us big bucks. It could be a disaster in January. Time to steady the ship, avoid relegation and not go for broke ....that's my opinion. There'll be lots more time in the Summer

Nope

We have plenty still to do this season. I know Milan came in, through money at the club and then thought "This league is shite" and started talking of instant promotion but if we go back to the original 3 year plan for a sec, we are behind special but hopefully now on track to sign the right players, out the failures and get a balanced squad with a permanent manager in place who fits the bill and for me, Ollie is one of the few crazy barstewards who could actual;ly do this mad job for us!

Im sure Sunderland fans were saying the same last season and look at what happened to them.

Before you all start jumping on my back im not saying it's going to happen and there is a very low chance it would but on the day anyone can beat anyone in this league and all it takes is to go on a good run and then you are up there. It has been done. ;)

when milan took over, everyone seemed happy with the 3 year plan, so why the change now... we have to be patient and restore some stability

I think its because with the increased payments to the Prem this year, the relegated clubs should be really strong and this season arguably will be the easiest chance we and other "average" clubs have of going up for a few years.

Problem is we have been waiting for our day since august :crylaugh:

Sunderland were 20th at Christmas last year

Just shows it can be done.

No.

Ollie is using Allen's team. He's using the resources which are already there for him.

When the season finishes, that is when the season is over. Other than that, the season is not over.

The season starts in January with Ollie's signings.

The season finishes, as i said, when the football season finishes.

I'm not that worried. I think we'll still pull clear and get into a safe mid-table finish... maybe push for the play-offs in the second half of the season.

Its not impossible... we aren't THAT far behind Wolves...

How the hell can people still talk of making the playoffs?

We are TWO points from the drop zone, and haven't put two wins together all season!

If you mean in terms of promotion, then yes I think this season is over, unless we see a very very dramatic change in January. I doubt it.

What we still have to get out of this season is stability, building a winning team and building some team spirit through keeping the manager. We've effectively got half a season to prepare for next season, thats the way I look at it - basically what Watford did when they got relegated - wrote off the season and prepared for the next. I definately think we can do that.

Said it before the Season started and it looks like for the wrong reasons I was right.

We are in a transition period and to expect anything else other than mid table with good prospects for next season was just naive. All of Milans talk about Play Offs didn't help but then maybe he felt he needed to win certain sections of the fans over.

Nobody could have predicted the Allen/Megson affairs but now we have to concentrate on Ollie, what & who he can bring to the club to improve the situation.

Lets also hope that he has enough in the noggin to get us out of a relegation battle before we get to involved.

Didn't palace go from bottom in December to get promoted a couple of seasons back? Under Ian Dowie

I think they did

Then again to compare that team with ours is laughable, I see us in a relegation battle rather than a spur up the table. Holloways signings will be crucial in Jan. He needsa to sign some expereinced players and stop playing kids.
