Luggy19 Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Oh Dear!Another bitter Plymouth fan heartbroken at losing Ollie. I spose you lot werent fussed about taking Sturrock from another club though?? Our team is having a bad time at the moment, mainly because our previous manager signed shit players, but when Ollie's signed his own players (including your best) we will turn it around. We are, always have, and always will be a bigger/better club than you, and you know it. Enjoy the good run you're on, cant see you getting promoted though, or winning the league cup(twice) like we have. Thats why we're in 7th eh ??? Better club ??? Dont make me laugh. And take our best players ??? You really think Norris wants to play in League One. Open your eyes you dafty. Personally I'm looking forward to that sweet day when Ollie gets kicked out the revolving door at the Crisp Bowl. Cheerio Mr Holloway and cheerio Leicester. PS. You may not be able to see us doing this or that but you cant really see much can you ?? I mean you cant see a bald lying **** when he stares you in the face !!! Haha !!! KEEPING IT GREEN !!!!!
davieG Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 The problem with this board is that collectively we massively over react to everything. The issue is that after several seasons' worth of absolute trollop we still cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Forget promotion for the minute. We have 3 difficult fixtures left this year, and to be frank I don't expect us to get much, if anything from them. By that time I expect we will be 3rd from bottom. We then have 4 extremely important games in the first 6 weeks of the year - 2 against Norwich, Blackpool and QPR. At the same time we will be bringing new players in, and I really do question if we can become a balanced team before those crunch games. There are a few things which are really crucial to our survival: 1. Milan must not sack Ollie before the end of the season. Otherwise the whole ship will sink. 2. Try not to worry about selling players. That can be done in the close season. What is important is that we get a couple of QUALITY players in, and get a starting 11 that works. 3. Stop talking about promotion for this season. The next 6 months are about 1) survival and 2) preparation for next season. Stop panicing and come back to this thread in 2 months and see where we are, because ultimately its out of our hands. Based on our current position and the form of the teams around us, if we don't get at least one win we will be bottom come January.

That's a bit harsh and uncalled for and that's coming from a supporter of a club that had their manager nicked by LCFC too. I might not support Leicester myself but I have a bit of an affinity for them after watching them as a kid play Ipswich circa 1977. They had some great players like Weller and Worthington and a lot of them very generously gave us autographs. Over the years i've seen them play a lot of good football and I truly believe and hope they'll bounce back. Anyone that says that the season is out of your control and up to the players, remember the bigger picture that it's a club effort as a whole and without not wanting to sound too soppy - you lot are the wind beneath the teams wings. Dig deep, stay focussed and enthusiastic, believe and keep up the support. When the going get's tough...

Agree with that 100%, but something aint right, something is rotten somewhere. We are trying our best but perhaps the whole Manderic thing is not healthy. Unfortunately we've got no choice, having got ourselves into debt. Can see us managerless come February and Scrapping for our lives come April, Norwich, QPR and Preston seem to be on the up. Hopefully we will survive the drop, but I'm not betting on it

I sometimes wonder myself what the motive is behind the huge sudden influx of foreigners snapping up our clubs and in many cases increasing their debt. Do they realise that you really have to put in more money then you get back which then means that there isn't a viable business case other then a labour of love?

It seems like they are just gambling with our clubs' assets. Something is going to hit the fan in the next couple of years

He's not bald Posted 16 December 2007 Author Posted 16 December 2007 Sack Holloway or we'll go down. We will go down unless someone gets a grip...sacking Ollie is not the answer as he can get us out of this mess but Mr M needs to put his hand's in his pocket and splash the cash because freebies, free loaders and bargain basement buys just ain't gonna get us out of this mess (for the record just he much cold hard cash has he actually laid out out on players?)

About 3.5 mill?
He's not bald Posted 16 December 2007 Author Posted 16 December 2007 About 3.5 mill? Wow..that's about half a decent striker then!
step Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Changing club ownership has made no difference to the condition of the football. Changing managers has had no influence on the quality of football. Changing the squad has only seams to make things worse. Maybe this curse that has hung over city like a bad smell wont go until we do get relegated.
filbertstreetboy Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 have you not seen the way we have played the last 5 games james?ask anyone who went hull what it was like "worst performance in the last 10 years", "holloway got the tatics all wrong" and "players played with no passion or skill they know there gone in jan so not even trying"
James. Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 have you not seen the way we have played the last 5 games james?ask anyone who went hull what it was like "worst performance in the last 10 years", "holloway got the tatics all wrong" and "players played with no passion or skill they know there gone in jan so not even trying" My view isn't based on the last 5 games. It's based on a belief in the ability of Holloway to turn this around.
filbertstreetboy Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 fair enough i surpose with a club our size you get all types of fans
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 December 2007 Posted 17 December 2007 Far too long to go to make some of the sweeping statements being made here. Holloway has obviously identified some first-team players who he doesn't like the look of so one way or another the team will look quite different going into the second half of the season. We've been on a bad run but if the fans actually get behind the team from the kickoff in the two home games between Christmas and New Year then we should pick up a few points and go down to QPR fired up. There's no excuse for only supporting the side when we're in the shit though. To all of you who suddenly found your voices for the Birmingham game, we need you earlier this season and we're going to need it more consistently. It does help.
