CRUSE_4 Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Jean Tigana was approached, and ultimately turned the job down. An up and coming? You mean like Martin Allen? We've done the up and coming thing before, it hasnt worked. Holloway is a good age, he has the experience of managing clubs on a shoe-string in the championship and has done well at both clubs, but is still relatively young, and this time will have money. You do have a point about the 'lower status' candidates though So, from my whole message you only found one good point??? Aah well, it's more than what your lot got today!!! HA HA HA! We beat top of the league today, you lost to bloody hull! LMAO! Say hello to hollowords for me when you see him, the lying, cheating turd! Looking down on you! Love, PAFC. Come on you Greens!!!

Good one, didnt think you were one of us somehow. Thats nearly nas funny as your ground, that. And even we've beat fecking Watford they cant be that good!
Micky Ruddle Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 It's on the cards. I don't want to think it, but it's there unless something is done about it
PAULCFC Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 I don't think it would matter if we had Arsene Wenger coaching this side ATM... they would still be crap as.We've been through how many managers now, and it always ends in the same way, so clearly, it's not the managers fault we are as crap as we are.... it's the players and cattle he has underneath him. We need a serious cleanout, if you don't want to show pride for this club and what it stands for, then f*** off... I know it's harsh, but frankly,we can't keep changing managers every 4 months to get the same thing time after time... Ollie seems to be a decent option, and to get rid of him now would be stupid IMO, he hasn't even been able to have his side yet. The club lurches from one mistake to another, time to stop the rot now, and that rot isn't the manager who wants this club to succeed, it's not the owner who wants this club to succeed, it's not the fans who want this club to succeed, it's the players who half the time now look as though they are there to get paid... not to play for the club... and it sickens me.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Why would the players care though?IF we got relegated the players we have who think they are better than they are would just leave anyway, and get some other poor team relegated, and if they leave I see it as a positive, but what i'm saying is they'll get us in this mess and leave us in this mess, yet they still think there better than they are. My cousin just asked who i'd like to leave and who i'd like to stay. My answer was that I could probably count the players I want to stay on 1 hand BUT if there to leave aswell I wouldn't be overly bothered, In brief any/all the players we currently have a Leicester City Football Club I really wouldn't be bothered, They can leave with my blessing. Hate to say it, but apart from Fulop - and he's a loan player - I wouldn't mind even Hume leaving !! None of them are that good !! A whole new squad it is again IMO
Micky Ruddle Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Whether we go down or not, i hope not, we need to start from scratch, literally. From top to bottom, this needs sorting.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Tis not looking to good but there is still time to so fingers crossed things will pick up
Trav Le Bleu Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 I'm worried that we have been in this position too many times and our luck may run out this season! Im approaching the point where I just don't care. IF you believe you will be relegated AND you "just don't care", then relegation will come knocking on your door. Fortunately I believe we have a manager who is more positive than 90% of our supporters!
He's not bald Posted 15 December 2007 Author Posted 15 December 2007 On a positive note, if you lot do get relegated at least i'll be able to look forward to watching you play us next season. They say every cloud has a silver lining. twat...why are you still here?..justify please!

Thracian Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 frankly i wouldnt be too bothered if we were relegated.right now all the current players need is a bloody great kick up the backside. as long as milan didnt leave we'd be fine, just look at leeds. I just wish Milan would sell out to someone who really loves our club and give it some pride back.
Plymouth Pete Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 It's on the cards.I don't want to think it, but it's there unless something is done about it I do not think you will go down, Ollie will save you, he has had experience of fighting relegation at QPR and Bristol. By the way Plymouth had a brilliant win to-day at top club Watford, oddly enough the goal came from 35 year old Barry Hayles skipping down the wing in the 89th minute and crossing for David Norris to slot home. The two players you bid for this week!

Maybes Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 I'm worried that we have been in this position too many times and our luck may run out this season! Im considering a bet on city getting relegated. Worth a stab i guess. Im approaching the point where I just don't care. I feel the same mate. When I was a young boy in the MON days I remember the passion and endeavor that the players and club offered. Now its is just shite. They only plus point about the football at the moment is that its better than work I do not think you will go down, Ollie will save you, he has had experience of fighting relegation at QPR and Bristol.By the way Plymouth had a brilliant win to-day at top club Watford, oddly enough the goal came from 35 year old Barry Hayles skipping down the wing in the 89th minute and crossing for David Norris to slot home. RedOnRed Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Good result for you again today. If things don't start to improve we might be playing you next season Yeah, with almost half the season under our belt and being at the top of table for quite a while I think it's now safe to say that we're looking pretty good. The only serious concern is that at sometime we're inevitably going to lose a few key players through suspension and injury and we might struggle then for cover. Regarding playing you guys next season, i'm sure things will turnaround for you. You've got everything in place to have success in your league and you've got a decent manager in Ollie. Hopefully he'll get a few good signings in for you next month and who knows, you might even still be able to end up in the play offs. I always thought that Allen wasn't a good enough manager for you lot and with hindsight I don't feel any different. The fact that he's been unemployed since he left you and seems to have burned all his bridges adds some fuel as well. They didn't want him at Norwich or Swindon. There's even talk that he might end up back at Brentford but the supporters don't want him back there and that's despite him doing well for them.
Matt Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 To be honest I carnt see us going down. There are worse Clubs than us in this division alot has happend at this club this season, managers coming and going players nearly dieing it seems like this is a real life Harchester United(Dream Team). We will come good just give it time. I know someone was going to say it. If your talking about the clubs.Blackpool, Colchester, S****horpe, Preston Ok well on head to head form lets have a look. Blackpool - We lose at home to them. Colchester - We drew to them. S****horpe - Another draw. Preston - Another draw. So we've only lost to one but the rest of the games havn't exactly been convincing have they?! Im considering a bet on city getting relegated. Worth a stab i guess. Same here but atleast last season the price was worth it @ 40/1 but we're about 4/1 at the moment, better than nothing I suppose.

What you lot need most now is stability and bringing in a few quality players in January. That way you might be in with a chance of ditching Allen's legacy and actually enabling a successor to him to hit the ground running with some results.

Yesterday's team; Foxes: Fulop, N'Gotty, Kisnobo, McAuley, Mattock, Kaebi, Clemence ©, King, Sheehan, Hume, Fryatt. Subs: Cort, Hayes, Stearman, Kenton, John. Allen's signings; Fulop, Kaebi, Clemence, Cort (On the bench), Hayes (On the bench) Fulop's good, I've heard good reports about Kaebi, Clemence has been good but going through a bad patch at the moment so really this is the same team that was getting us into this shit last season. N'Gotty may be an Allen signing but thought he was signed before Allen came? Not sure, Seems a long time ago. So lets say N'Gotty was signed by Allen that's only 4 of his signing playing yesterday, and 2 subs.

Obviously when a manager brings players in he typically wants them to be better then what he's got or wants to enhance his team with adequate cover. Do you think Allen's signings are up to the job?

Do you think Allen's signings are up to the job? Allen, it now appears, made alot of his signings without seeing them play. Now, that might work for Man City and signing quality internationals who have had alot of exposure, but it hasnt worked for us. There are doubts about the one international we did sign and wether he is physically upto playing in england... we are expecting a mass exodus in january... wether we sell them or wether we just release them and tell them to find their own deals is another matter...

At least he didn't do a Souness and sign an African player that had never even kicked a ball before competitively.
filbertway Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Ollie...Transfer window..Good Track record...Improvement....Staying up easily
Monk Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 The problem with this board is that collectively we massively over react to everything. The issue is that after several seasons' worth of absolute trollop we still cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Forget promotion for the minute. We have 3 difficult fixtures left this year, and to be frank I don't expect us to get much, if anything from them. By that time I expect we will be 3rd from bottom. We then have 4 extremely important games in the first 6 weeks of the year - 2 against Norwich, Blackpool and QPR. At the same time we will be bringing new players in, and I really do question if we can become a balanced team before those crunch games. There are a few things which are really crucial to our survival: 1. Milan must not sack Ollie before the end of the season. Otherwise the whole ship will sink. 2. Try not to worry about selling players. That can be done in the close season. What is important is that we get a couple of QUALITY players in, and get a starting 11 that works. 3. Stop talking about promotion for this season. The next 6 months are about 1) survival and 2) preparation for next season. Stop panicing and come back to this thread in 2 months and see where we are, because ultimately its out of our hands.
