Jay Posted 18 July 2009 Posted 18 July 2009 edward was in the SAS, whoopee-doo! super-ray trains the SAS (but he doesn't like to talk about it) ray > grylls trains them on how to spot the interesting flora and fungi they may way come across on their travels, not how to make a nutritious and tasty soup by only using some dodgy shellfish, some maggots taken from a dead seals eyeball, some dirty pond water and a sweaty sock!!
stez Posted 18 July 2009 Posted 18 July 2009 trains them on how to spot the interesting flora and fungi they may way come across on their travels, not how to make a nutritious and tasty soup by only using some dodgy shellfish, some maggots taken from a dead seals eyeball, some dirty pond water and a sweaty sock!! yep, i watched that one, watched him have the squitz afterwards too. ray is a Michelin starred survivalist
Jay Posted 18 July 2009 Posted 18 July 2009 yep, i watched that one, watched him have the squitz afterwards too. ray is a Michelin starred survivalist speaking of which... never seen the Mears need to make an urgent deposit while halfway up a massive rock face after a dodgy snake or wrestle and then chow down on a 10ft Boa to busy with his mushroom and nettle soup!!
ob1kanobe0 Posted 18 July 2009 Posted 18 July 2009 sleeping rough is just for pussies!!when Mears climbs inside a rotting camel to cut it's guts out drags them away then decides to climb inside just for the fun of it he can talk but until then he can carry of munching on fungus!! The Bearster is a legend I love that one, how to build a home using a cammel.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 18 July 2009 Posted 18 July 2009 The difference between them is that Grylls' show is more entertainment than education based. I'm really looking forward to the special with Will Ferrell he's doing, it's coming up on discovery some time in the future, should be immense.
Edmund Posted 18 July 2009 Posted 18 July 2009 vote tork So that was you. lavrentis Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 Theres a fierce rivalry in my household. My dad likes Ray Mears but I am more of a Bear fan. I prefer the action. Going naked into a river in Siberian temperatures is crazy.
Libertine Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 Mears is a man's man. I'm split in the middle, literally.
Fox You Forest Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 Real men piss in snake skin and save it for a drink later.
ob1kanobe0 Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 Real men piss in snake skin and save it for a drink later. Or just a water canister and no woman will moan at you for leaving the toilet seat down Can you imagine Ray Mears vegetarian camera crew trying to film that.
Guest Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 I think you'd like to believe that, you strike me as someone who agree's with burning bra's, and so do i Ive learnt quite alot, might come in handy if this swine flu gets out of hand. Don't worry, i wont eat you.Bras cost too much to go around burning 'em. Yes! I can feel another bra rant coming on........
Jay Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 Or just a water canister and no woman will moan at you for leaving the toilet seat down Can you imagine Ray Mears vegetarian camera crew trying to film that. or just use partially digested camel poo for all your water needs!!
lou Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 Ray Mears > Grylls anyday! Last time I saw Grylls he was in some place that was pure Ice caps fell into the water and got out... stripped completely naked and rolled around on the ice for 5 minutes! Hes tapped! Made us laugh that they pixelated his Bits.... they must have advanced so far back into his body by that stage theyre couldnt have been much left to pixelate!
purpleronnie Posted 19 July 2009 Posted 19 July 2009 I like the show but anyone who thought that all the stuff he does isnt tried and tested before he does it is deluded. The only 'real' thing that he does is eat a load of really gross stuff.
Fox You Forest Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 http://www.discoverychannel.co.uk/web/born...vivor/the-game/ I died shortly after starting I won't say how don't want to give it away.
Uncle Monty Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 MTV version of the much celebrated Ray Mears if you ask me.
Budweiser Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Meh. True. But I still like watching it, some of the things he does is quite outragous. He ate a snake? Though that is hardly the worst of them.
