Head Honcho Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 We can loan again from next week. So unless we were going to sign anyone permanently, it didn't matter if we got them yesterday. Lee Cook would have been nice, but he's a Cockney so it wasn't surprising to see him stay in London.I still hope we can get Sinclair from Chelsea next week or so. If loans are available again next week why did so many loan deals go through yesterday We can certainly afford the wages of a decent loan player after yesterdays clearout.

To play over the weekend, and they only became available once the loaning teams had sorted out their business?
MikeyT Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Who is left now that needs getting rid of apart from Hammond?

It always goes crazy on the last day, but the loan window for teams outside the Premiership does definitely open again next week. I also don't think there were too many players that went on loan yesterday that i'm upset we missed out on. Paul Gallacher would have been nice or that Bates from Middlesborough, but other than that it was fairly mundane transfers.

I just think it's bad form for teams to wait until the last day to do business when the window has been open for weeks-surely most of the business should be done in the first week.

Haha I remember a summer not s'long ago where a club tried that, 3/4 of their summer signings brought within weeks of/before the transfer window opening... I also remember how 1/2 of them signings have now been 'payed off' cause they were absolutely diabolical, many not even able to make the subs bench!!! Whereas a slow(ish) transfer period over january brought the club far greater potential in the signings IMO
Daggers Posted 13 February 2008 Author Posted 13 February 2008 So - do we assume that MM has said "No" to funding any loans or that no clubs are prepared to let us **** up their talent?
